General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) will find someone new to connect with in the coming weeks. Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) has been having a rough time ever since he came home.
As if Dante’s programming and self-esteem issues weren’t enough to conquer, now Lulu Spencer (Emme Rylan) is in a coma – and that leaves Dante without his true love.
Dante’s also struggling as a single parent now, so he’ll have a lot in common with Sam as they form a solid friendship. General Hospital spoilers say Dante will help Sam as she tries to get over Jason Morgan (Steve Burton). Dante will become a steady source of support for Sam – and Sam will become Dante’s rock as well.
From the sound of things, this could easily turn into a love story down the road. Sam and Dante may fall for each other when they least expect it. Dante will eventually be deprogrammed and can live the safe life Sam’s looking for.
There’s the potential for Dante and Sam to have a real future – that is until Lulu inevitably wakes up from her coma!
What happens if Dante’s madly in love with Sam by the time Lulu awakens? Lulu could find herself with some competition after she recovers and gets back on her feet. There’ll be plenty of new shockers and shakeups for Lulu to catch up on in Port Charles, including this Sam and Dante development.
Although exactly when Lulu will return isn’t yet known, it’s obviously going to happen eventually. That’s why GH writers chose not to kill Lulu off! The whole point of this long-term coma is to keep Lulu off screen for a while and then set up her big comeback.
Dante should be thrilled when that day finally comes, but Sam’s involvement could make things complicated. It wouldn’t be much of a story if Dante simply stayed lonely and waited for Lulu to wake up.
There’s more drama if Dante’s in love with Sam when Lulu awakens – kind of like how Lulu was in love with Dustin Phillips (Mark Lawson) when Dante came home.
Of course, this Lulu, Dante and Sam love triangle would probably just be a long setup for a “Lante” reunion. Sam may come to mean a great deal to Dante, but she could never compete with Dante’s deep love for Lulu.
In the end, this brewing romance with Dante could mean another tough split for Sam. Lulu is the love of Dante’s life – and he’s bound to choose her once she becomes an option again. We’ll offer updates as other GH news emerges.
