General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) may have no choice but to step up for his family. GH fans know there’s a meeting with the five families coming up, so it’s crucial for Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) to be there.
As Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) pointed out, the other families could be out for blood if Jason doesn’t show. It could be a sign of real vulnerability in Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) organization.
Jason certainly isn’t going to want Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) to attend in his place, though it’s possible she’ll step up anyway.
However, Carly fought hard to get Jason to accept the deal Cyrus was offering. She suggested she couldn’t handle things on the outside alone. Carly’s feeling lost and isn’t in a great place mentally right now.
Carly’s at a weak point since she’s still dealing with Sonny’s presumed death, so it’s perhaps not the best idea to send her into the lion’s den.
Now that Jason has rejected Cyrus’ deal, he’s counting on Carly to prove his innocence and get him out of there. Unfortunately, that may not happen before the five-families meeting.
If Carly doesn’t go in Jason’s place, who does that leave? That brings us back to Michael and this tough situation he may be forced into.
On March 30, General Hospital spoilers say Michael will visit Jason in lockup after his Cyrus meeting wraps up. This might bring a desperate request from Jason under the circumstances. Someone has to be at this five-families meeting or everything could descend into chaos.
Faced with the possibility of his family getting hurt or worse, Michael might have to attend as Sonny’s son. It makes sense when you think about Michael’s admission to Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) before he asked her to move in the gatehouse.
Michael talked about how he had a very different line of work from Sonny, but he also recognized that he has the Corinthos name. He confessed to Willow that some people might expect him to take over for Sonny in his absence.
That might’ve been GH writers’ way of setting the stage for Michael’s mob drama now that Jason’s been arrested and there’s no one else to fill in.
