General Hospital Spoilers: Monday, August 23 Recap – Peter Spies Maxie in Nixon Falls – Cyrus Forces Laura & Martin Into Hiding

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Monday, August 23, reveals that Peter August (Wes Ramsey) spied Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) in Nixon Falls while Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) forced Laura Collins (Genie Francis) and Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight) into hiding.

At The Tan-O, Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) was on edge throughout her conversation with Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms). She reluctantly offered up some wine, though it was clear she didn’t want Maxie to hang around.

Maxie felt like she was almost strong enough to be around her daughter again, but she wanted to stay there with Nina for a while in Nixon Falls.

After Nina got a text from “Mike” aka Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), Nina insisted that Maxie had to go. She didn’t think it was wise for Maxie to use Nixon Falls as an escape the way she did.

Maxie eventually headed out, but a man lurked nearby and watched her. GH fans ultimately saw the camera pan up as the man stepped forward – and it was none other than Peter August!

Back in Port Charles, Olivia Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero) quizzed Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) about his bond with Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) before Leo Falconeri (Easton Rocket Sweda) revealed a cut on his finger.

Olivia took her son to the hospital fearing he’d need stitches, but Dante thought she was making a big deal out of nothing.

At GH, Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) unsuccessfully tried to negotiate a deal with Austin Gatlin Holt (Roger Howarth) before Olivia showed up with Leo.

Austin made sure Leo got a tetanus shot, but no stitches were needed. He praised the kid for taking the shot like a champ and gave him a fidget spinner.

Olivia planned to follow up with Leo’s regular pediatrician, but Austin was adamant about Olivia bringing the boy to him.

Austin insisted he liked to finish what he started – and later, Austin talked to the nurse at the desk to set up a notification about this important follow-up appointment.

In the Corinthos clan’s kitchen, Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) couldn’t keep lying to Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) like this.

Willow felt like a terrible person, but Michael didn’t see it that way at all. Michael wanted to go with Willow when she told Chase the truth, but she feared that might make things worse.

However, Michael felt it was time to stop playing God and deciding what Chase could or couldn’t handle.

Michael resolved to support Willow since he was in just as deep when it came to their deception.

At the Quartermaine mansion, Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) realized Chase had a document that proved Edward Quartermaine (John Ingle) wanted to change his will – though she felt like only the actual will mattered.

Brook Lynn demanded answers about why Chase was helping Austin, so he spilled the story of Austin assisting with his trip to the gatehouse – which led to finding evidence that Michael and Willow slept together.

Chase wanted to get back at Michael, but Brook Lynn complained about this affecting her and the rest of the Quartermaine family.

Soon after, Michael and Willow showed up hoping to have a conversation with Chase.

Back with Austin, he checked his voicemail and heard the one Chase had left about his discovery in Edward’s study.

By the Metro Court pool, Sam spoke with Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) and Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) about the call from Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison).

After Dante joined the discussion, Sam expressed her desire to see Drew’s WSB plane crash file. Anna agreed to get it for Sam so she could look into it further.

At home, Laura got some scary news about Cyrus’ vengeful plans for his siblings. Jordan Ashford (Briana Nicole Henry) revealed that Cyrus put a contract out on Laura and Martin, so it wasn’t safe for them to stay in Port Charles.

Martin and Laura needed to head to an undisclosed location immediately where they could be protected.

Although Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom) wanted to go into hiding with Laura, she insisted he should stay behind and look out for Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez).

Kevin and Laura said a heartfelt goodbye as they prepared to part ways.
