General Hospital Spoilers: Monday, September 20 – Sonny Leaves Against Doctors’ Advice, Heads Home – Car Bomb Kills Mobsters

General Hospital (GH) spoilers for Monday, September 20, tease that angry Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) will leave against his doctors’ advice since he must get home to his family! A car bomb switch will also be revealed, so here’s what fans can look forward to.

For starters, Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) and Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) will get updates on the fire drama Peter August (Wes Ramsey) caused.

Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) will definitely get an earful for not alerting them to trouble sooner, but what’s done is done.

Valentin and Anna will hope they can still catch up with Peter, but it’ll be best if they split up and try to cover more ground.

Valentin will vow to shoot Peter on sight – and Anna will certainly be willing to pump a bullet in her nephew if need be.

While the next phase of the Peter hunt begins, Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) will have a special gift for Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson).

Chase will drop it off at the Quartermaine mansion, where Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) will have “Bailey Quartermaine” aka Louise August (Harper and Scarlett Bloom) in her arms.

Chase will smile and admit he wouldn’t “trade that time for anything,” so he may mean the time he spent bonding with Brook Lynn and “Bailey” while living at the mansion.

As for the gift he’ll leave for Monica, Chase may just want to thank her for opening her home to him when he was struggling.

At the wedding reception, Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) and Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) will do what they do best and compliment each other. Willow will insist Michael truly is the best man – clearly indicating a double meaning.

Meanwhile, Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) will grow impatient when Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) and Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) get delayed.

“What we could use is a bride and groom,” Maxie insists to Austin Gatlin Holt (Roger Howarth) in Monday’s preview video.

Now that Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) has wrapped up most of her maid of honor duties, she’ll have a little more time to hang out with her friends.

Cameron Webber (William Lipton) and Trina Robinson (Sydney Mikayla) will talk to Josslyn, who’ll be happy for her mom and frustrated over the Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) situation.

“Where have you seen something like that before?” Cameron sarcastically asks Josslyn in Monday’s GH preview clip.

There may be some talk about Josslyn’s distrust of Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) and how she gets under people’s skin, but Cam might think Joss can give as good as she gets.

However, it’ll be Cam and Trina who take the lead on exposing Esme’s wicked ways in the coming episodes.

Until then, Maxie will catch up with Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) as the two of them share a sweet moment together.

It’ll serve as a minor distraction until Spinelli delivers some shocking news about an explosion outside of the chapel.

Of course, things aren’t quite as they seem. GH writers offered a fake-out for the Friday cliffhanger since Jason obviously knew about the car bomb and made sure it was planted under the mobsters’ vehicle instead.

RIP Vincent Novak (Glenn Taranto) and Mr. Charles Buscemi (Burt Tangredi)!

It should be revealed that Mr. Buscemi and Vincent met a grim fate instead, but it serves them right for trying to murder Carly and Jason on their wedding day.

Brando Corbin (Johnny Wactor) may fear the worst briefly, but he’ll be relieved along with everyone else when Carly and Jason turn out to be just fine.

Perhaps Brando will also hope this serves as a wake-up call to Gladys Corbin (Bonnie Burroughs) about the dangers of getting too close to organized crime.

As for Olivia Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero), she’ll discover that Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) has only been giving her half-truths.

There’ll be some secrets that come out, so Olivia may realize Leo Falconeri’s (Easton Rocket Sweda) issues are more concerning than she previously thought.

At the clinic in Nixon Falls, Nina will face another furious outburst from Sonny.

Nina will insist the doctors say Sonny can’t leave there, but he’ll plan to do whatever he wants. “Try and stop me!” Sonny shouts menacingly in Monday’s preview video.

Sonny is furious with Nina at the moment, but could they rekindle what they had down the road after things have calmed down?

Something tells us Sonny’s feelings for Nina won’t evaporate completely, but he’ll remain focused on getting back to Carly for now.

The problem is Carly just married Jason and most likely won’t be alone when Sonny returns to Port Charles!
