General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom) will eagerly await the day when he can make his great escape. Ryan is clearly faking his locked-in syndrome – as evidenced by his multiple smirks when no one else is looking.
This all seems to be Ryan’s elaborate plan to score himself a spot at a facility with minimum security.
Now Ryan is a one-handed man who can’t really even move from the staff’s perspective. It’s safe to say nobody’s going to be watching this prisoner too closely – and that’s exactly what Ryan has in mind!
What Ryan wants most is surely his freedom and the chance to wreak havoc on Ava Jerome Cassadine’s (Maura West) life again.
Ava put Ryan to the test when she dug her fingernails into him and didn’t see him flinch. That told Ava her ex’s condition was real – or else he’d developed some sort of masochistic strength to power through a moment like that. Based on all the private smirking we mentioned, it seems to be the latter!
In fact, Ryan seemed borderline turned on by Ava trying to make him suffer. Ryan has an intense relationship with Ava, who he views as his equal in many ways. Nevertheless, Ryan also has quite a temper – and he clearly isn’t happy about Ava’s marriage to Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma).
It seems likely Ryan would still like to have Ava for himself despite his issues with her, so how might Ryan try to force a reunion? General Hospital spoilers suggest Ryan will need some leverage once he inevitably makes his getaway.
As soon as Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) was presumed dead, Ava wasted no time taking Avery Corinthos (Ava and Grace Scarola) back to Wyndemere. There was a lot of talk about how safe Avery would be there, so maybe that was a hint. Perhaps Avery won’t be so safe at Wyndemere after all.
Ryan knows that Ava’s daughters are her true weak spot. He saw Ava’s reaction firsthand after he killed Kiki Jerome (Hayley Erin). Ryan thought he was doing Ava a favor, but she was an emotional wreck after Kiki’s murder – especially since she felt responsible and also wasn’t on good terms with Kiki at the time.
Now Ava’s down to one daughter, so she’s determined to build and maintain a strong relationship with Avery. It makes sense for Ryan to kidnap Avery since she’s what matters most to Ava in the world.
Now we’re not suggesting that Ryan will do anything too terrible to Avery, but the threat of it alone could leave Ava in meltdown mode.
Ava would do pretty much anything to get Avery back, so Ryan might push for lovemaking or the promise that they’ll run away together. Ryan might even demand that Ava kill Nikolas! There’s no limit to what Ryan could push for with Avery as his golden ticket to his wildest dreams.
This could be a situation where Ava has to appease Ryan long enough for Nikolas to swoop in as the hero. Regardless, GH fans know Avery is at Wyndemere full-time now – and Wyndemere should be Ryan’s first stop once he slips out of his minimum-security facility.
It’d be a no-brainer for Ryan to target another one of Ava’s daughters as part of his twisted plans.
