General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) may face Drew Cain’s (Cameron Mathison) gun and land in a situation where she has to break his programming trance. Will Sam get through to Scout Cain’s (Ella Ramacieri) father and bring the real Drew back to the surface?
Sam and Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) have teamed up to find Drew, who’s now under Peter August’s (Wes Ramsey) control.
Peter activated the old programming that Cesar Faison (Anders Hove) installed, so now Drew is recklessly loyal soldier reporting for duty.
Drew doesn’t care about the consequences or even know what he’s doing in this state of mind. He’s been brainwashed to follow orders, so he does what he’s told and doesn’t question if it’s right or wrong.
However, GH spoilers say there may be a way to override this conditioning. The bond between a parent and a child can be awfully powerful.
It’s something that the show’s highlighted throughout Drew’s time in captivity, so Scout could be part of what saves Drew from doing the unthinkable.
Sooner or later, Sam and Dante are probably going to accomplish their goal of locating Drew. They’re expecting to pull off a rescue, but Drew’s programming could lead to danger for Dante and Sam instead.
It’s easy to imagine a big showdown where Drew aims his weapon at one or both of them.
Sam might have to talk Drew out of pulling the trigger, especially for Scout’s sake.
GH fans will recall how Sam broke through Dante’s programming when he was about to kill Peter. She clearly has a knack for reaching people in that brainwashed mindset, so Sam may do it once again with her former flame.
Sam won’t want Scout to someday face the pain of knowing her father killed her mother. She may remind Drew that a beautiful little girl is just waiting to reconnect with him and push him not to destroy that.
Sam might rattle off a list of wonderful things about Scout and insist Drew’s love for their daughter is stronger than any hold this programming has on him.
This could lead to the breakthrough Drew needs, so let’s hope the power of his love for Scout snaps him back to reality!
