General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Sofia Mattsson will exit for her maternity leave, so Sasha Gilmore will be temporarily written out. Mattsson gave birth to an adorable baby boy back on July 26, so we’re rapidly approaching the last episodes she filmed before taking time off work. Sasha will head offscreen for a while, but she’ll be back once Sofia Mattsson’s maternity leave wraps up.
Of course, many GH fans will be curious to see exactly how Sasha’s exit will be explained. It could be as simple as being put on bedrest, especially if Sasha gets stressed over the mob drama that’s looming.
A warehouse strike is set to take place during the wedding, but the real concern may be Brando Corbin (Johnny Wactor) trying to watch out for his messy mom!
Gladys Corbin (Bonnie Burroughs) always finds a way to create chaos and rile up the wrong people.
This time Gladys has gotten tangled up in Vincent Novak’s (Glenn Taranto) dangerous world – and that’s not much better than being tangled up with Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober).
After all, Cyrus has reached out to make mob allies against the Corinthos clan and is part of this takedown plot that’s brewing.
During the week of September 20-24, Brando will battle concerns about Gladys and will step up to fight for what’s best for her.
This could be building to another round of danger for Brando to get caught up in – and that could certainly affect Sasha as well as her unborn child.
Naturally, it’s also possible the show will go to the extreme of having Sasha kidnapped or something along those lines.
Cyrus was always rather obsessed with Sasha, so it’s an option to consider if he calls in a favor and wreaks more havoc from behind bars.
Still, bedrest or just having Sasha busy with work might be easier possibilities that wouldn’t distract from the other main plots too much.
No matter how this exit plays out, Sasha will indeed be offscreen for a bit. It’ll be interesting to see what Brando does in the meantime as we look forward to the next chapter of this baby story.
General Hospital spoilers say there’ll be plenty of excitement surrounding other characters, so that’ll make Sofia Mattsson’s temporary exit as Sasha less noticeable.
