General Hospital Spoilers: Thursday, October 28 Recap – Carly Tells Nina to Plead Insanity – Sonny Rejects Cyrus Meeting

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Thursday, October 28, reveals that Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) sarcastically told delusional Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) to plead insanity while Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) rejected a prison meeting with Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober).

At Spring Ridge on Thursday’s GH episode, Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) filled Shawn Butler (Sean Blakemore) in on the pardon Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) had arranged for her.

However, Alexis wasn’t willing to let Nikolas get away with hiring the hit on Hayden Barnes (Rebecca Budig) and felt she belonged in prison.

Alexis pointed out that Nikolas let Shawn sit behind bars for a crime he didn’t commit. She wanted Shawn to pursue justice, but they needed to get Nikolas to come clean.

Shawn had a flashback of interacting with Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) at Kelly’s, where Spencer said he’d come a long way from being the boy who could get his father to do anything. That led to a lightbulb moment for Shawn.

Meanwhile, Nikolas and Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West) showed up at Kelly’s while Spencer was still on the job.

Nikolas assured Spencer that he didn’t know his son was working there, but Spencer seemed to have his doubts.

In a moment alone, Spencer complained to Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl). He felt like Ava was loving this and griped about how she never left Nikolas’ side.

Esme decided to ask Ava if they could talk, so they went outside before Esme expressed regret over her part in Spencer’s stalker scheme.

Ava decided that everyone had made mistakes and was willing to give Esme another chance. Although acted nice enough at first, she turned rather threatening before she walked away.

Ava warned Esme to make the most of this fresh start since it was the only one she’d get. She insisted that crossing her again wouldn’t end well for Esme.

Back inside, Nikolas wanted to help Spencer get his life back on track. Unfortunately, Spencer wasn’t interested as long as Ava was in the picture for his father.

When Esme reconvened with Spencer in private, he grumbled about Nikolas needing a wakeup call.

At the Quartermaine gatehouse, Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) struggled to find the words to respond to Michael Corinthos’ (Chad Duell) marriage proposal.

Michael took that to mean she was turning him down, but Willow clarified that she was just saying “not yet.”

Willow wanted to marry for love, not because Michael was trying to smooth things over after a disagreement. Michael denied doing that, but Willow still felt like the timing was off – though she assured Michael that she wanted to spend her life with him.

After Willow explained her perspective, Michael decided he could wait forever if he had to. However, Willow promised it wouldn’t be that long.

In the Corinthos family kitchen, Sonny accepted Cyrus’ collect call from prison and asked what he wanted. Cyrus hoped he wasn’t too late to welcome Sonny back from the dead.

Cyrus danced around his reason for calling until Sonny threatened to hang up if he didn’t hear something interesting.

Cyrus talked about the recent wedding tragedy, which left Vincent Novak (Glenn Taranto) and Charlie Buscemi (Burt Tangredi) blown to bits. He suggested he had info on who wanted to replace them now that their territories were up for grabs.

Cyrus thought they could talk more when Sonny came for a visit, but Sonny nixed the idea of coming to see his old rival.

At the boxing gym, Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) thought the guy asking questions outside Kelly’s might be the same as the mystery hospital patient. Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) thought Portia should trust her instincts if she felt something was off.

Later, Sonny showed up and offered updates on the phone call he received from Cyrus. After Sonny got the scoop on the hostage crisis that happened at Portia’s place, he took off.

Since this strange man appeared right before Cyrus reached out, Portia wondered if the mystery guy might be working for him.

At the Metro Court, Carly had a big issue with Nina being out on bail already. Nina ranted about Nelle Benson (Chloe Lanier) and tried to swing blame in her enemy’s direction, but Carly fired back once again.

Carly argued that Nina had basically kidnapped Sonny to punish her and thought Nina was delusional.

Carly suggested maybe Nina should just plead insanity and be done with it! Nina griped about the new law and how the DA was trying to invent something to use against her.

Nina felt that Michael controlled the DA – and Carly controlled Michael. Nina accused Carly of using her own for revenge and thought Michael was just Carly’s puppet.

Nina also thought her attorney could make a strong case that she was protecting Sonny – that he was actually better off in Nixon Falls.

Nina added that by trying to hurt her, Carly would only end up hurting herself. That comment puzzled Carly just before Sonny arrived, which led to Nina dashing off to work.

Carly insisted she tried doing things Sonny’s way, but she couldn’t. This was between Carly and Nina from now on!

General Hospital spoilers say Nina and Carly’s war will lead to more shockers, so stay tuned.
