General Hospital Spoilers: Thursday, September 30 Recap – Ava Promises Ryan – Esme Launches Sonny’s Attack on Nikolas

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Thursday, September 30, reveals that Ava Jerome (Maura West) made a vengeful promise to Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom) while Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) launched Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) attack on Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma).

At the Quartermaine mansion, Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) argued that Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) shouldn’t go after Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) since Nina would just make herself out to be the victim. Carly decided Jason was right, but she was still frustrated and overwhelmed over this whole situation.

Jason let Carly know that Sonny was planning on telling her about Nina. After Carly slammed out, Jason explained the Nina situation to Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth). Ned worried about how Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson) would feel about Sonny’s return, especially since it meant Jason would be taking more risks and doing more dangerous jobs.

Meanwhile, Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) got updates on Shawn Butler’s (Sean Blakemore) investigation at Spring Ridge. Shawn explained the incident that resulted in Jordan Ashford’s (Briana Nicole Henry) kidney trouble and treatment in Albany.

Alexis was surprised to learn Shawn and Jordan’s investigation led to the same place as Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) and Curtis Ashford’s (Donnell Turner). Shawn also explained the Creighton-Clark link, so Alexis reflected on her own link to it through Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy).

Alexis talked about when Victor ran the WSB with his own agenda and noted he was “pretty dead” the last time she heard. She thought Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) or Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) would be better sources of information for Shawn.

As Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom) wrapped up a call with Laura Collins (Genie Francis), Ava popped in and asked the doc to make her a promise. Ava was concerned since absence can sometimes make you miss someone even more. She needed Kevin to watch over Nikolas and make sure he didn’t give into his darker impulses.

Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) was also at GH, where she stood around the corner from Esme and wished she could hear what the schemer was saying to Sonny. Joss whipped out her phone to capture the meeting on camera while Esme told Sonny that Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) had returned to town.

When Sonny asked if Spencer was in trouble, Esme suggested her concerns were about Nikolas and lied that he seemed to be planning to flee to Bora Bora with Ava. Sonny was grateful and thought “Ms. Prince” did the right thing by coming to him, but she insisted that he call her Esme.

At Wyndemere, Cameron Webber (William Lipton) assured Spencer that whatever he wanted to share would stay between them. Spencer seemed like he was about to confess to being the stalker, but Trina Robinson’s (Sydney Mikayla) arrival ruined things.

Trina mentioned some fake Bora Bora trip info to Spencer and then privately scolded Cameron for not leaving when he was supposed to. She worried they might never get the stalker truth at this rate.

Spencer also took a call from Esme, who assured him that Nikolas wouldn’t be taking that trip. Although Spencer was concerned about what Esme had done, she repeatedly insisted that she’d handled it.

After Sonny left GH, Kevin greeted Josslyn and made it so she got busted spying. Both Esme and Josslyn covered up the truth behind what they were doing there. Once Esme was alone with Joss, she acted like her feelings were hurt since Josslyn didn’t like her.

“Cut the crap, Es,” Josslyn said. She warned that if her family was involved in whatever Esme was cooking up, Esme’s feelings would be the least of her problems. Esme countered that it was free for Joss to mind her own business, but minding Esme’s business would cost her!

After Sonny showed up at Wyndemere, Spencer greeted him with a hug and couldn’t get over him being alive. Soon after, Sonny confronted Nikolas with the help of two burly guards and made it clear that Nik wasn’t going anywhere.

As for Trina and Cameron, their phones chimed to indicate messages – presumably ones with the Esme and Sonny evidence that Josslyn had sent. Back at Spring Ridge, Ava chatted with Alexis and Shawn ahead of her London trip. She just had some parting words to say to Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom) first.

Ava moved in close and warned that she knew he had something to do with the stalker mess. She suggested Ryan won for now since she’s leaving Port Charles, but she added that he’d rue the day she returned.

Across town, Carly barged in Jasper “Jax” Jacks’ (Ingo Rademacher) place to confront him about conspiring with Nina. Jax insisted Carly had it all wrong since he’d only had a hunch about Sonny’s survival right before the wedding.

Carly was upset over Jax letting her go through with the nuptials, but he argued that she would’ve accused him of trying to stop him from marrying Jason. Jax explained the identical sauce being behind his hunch, so Carly seemed skeptical that was the only thing involved.

After Jax admitted to thinking he saw Sonny during a previous Nixon Falls trip, Carly flipped out again and wondered why he wouldn’t tell her that. Jax said Nina convinced him he was hallucinating, so that gave Carly another reason to lash out over Nina’s manipulation.

Once Jax and Carly argued about Sonny’s happiness in Nixon Falls, Jax mentioned something about Nina moving on. It soon became evident to Jax that Carly didn’t know Nina carried on a secret romance with “Mike.” Carly could tell Jax was holding back, so she pushed him for more answers.

As other GH news becomes available, we’ll keep you posted. General Hospital spoilers say Carly will get even more enraged once the rest of the story comes out. CDL will have other exciting General Hospital spoilers, news and updates, so pop back in regularly.
