General Hospital Spoilers: Tuesday, December 14 Recap – Carly’s Jason Keepsake – Finn Prevents Liz’s Prison Sentence

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Tuesday, December 14, reveals that Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) got emotional over a Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) keepsake while Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) prevented Elizabeth “Liz” Baldwin’s (Rebecca Herbst) prison sentence.

At The Savoy, Stella Henry (Vernee Watson) was stunned to see Marshall Ashford (Robert Gossett) – though her surprise seemed more about seeing Marshall in general than the fact that he was back from the “dead.”

After Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) ranted about how his father could’ve caused a relapse, Marshall was sorry to hear about Stella’s stroke. There were obviously some secrets between Stella and Marshall since he seemed to be covering up the fact that she knew he was alive.

Marshall thanked Stella for stepping up for his family after he left, so she suggested they all did the best they could. She went easy on Marshall and suggested Curtis should hear him out, but Curtis was sick of all his father’s vague excuses about danger and complicated situations.

It just wasn’t enough for Curtis, but Marshall pointed out it was enough for TJ Ashford (Tajh Bellow). He hoped Curtis would be willing to try reconnecting as well and revealed the hotel where he was staying. After Marshall left, Stella hugged Curtis and insisted she wouldn’t let anyone upend their family.

At GH, Austin Gatlin Holt (Roger Howarth) offered Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) the good news about Peter August (Wes Ramsey) being “more dead than alive.”

Austin also rattled off Britt’s best qualities as a doctor since she was having a rough day, so she seemed to appreciate the pep talk.

Meanwhile, Brando Corbin (Johnny Wactor) and Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) discussed how they were ready to tackle the challenge of being parents to Liam Corbin. They knew it’d be difficult, but Sasha suggested all that mattered is that Liam would feel their love.

Brando tracked Britt down for answers about what was next, so she joined them in Sasha’s room and tried to help them truly understand. Britt made it clear that Liam would never open his eyes or breathe on his own.

Liam would in a permanent vegetative state and would need to be cared for in a long-term facility elsewhere.

Sasha remained in denial and lashed out at Britt, but the doc kept her cool and knew this was hard to hear. Britt reiterated that Liam would have no quality of life. She explained that Liam could face seizures, bed sores and plenty of other ailments if he was kept alive by machines.

Brando realized Britt was saying there was really only one option – and Britt confirmed that option was taking Liam off life support. When Brando suggested they needed to let Liam go, Sasha cried in his arms.

While Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) quizzed Finn about what kind of poison Peter August (Wes Ramsey) might’ve ingested and whether he’d finally die, Liz considered killing Peter with the scalpel she was holding.

Finn interrupted and got Liz out of there before she could do the deed. Once they were alone, Finn suggested he didn’t want Liz to face the guilt he faced when he thought he killed Peter.

However, Liz was actually upset that Finn stopped her from giving her boys some semblance of justice and ridding the world of a monster!

Finn argued that Liz could be as angry as she wanted, but he had to make sure her children had a parent around – just like Liz had done for Finn when she stopped him from confessing to the cops.

After Finn made it clear that he’d be there for Liz, she planted a kiss on him and ran out of his office.

Back with Austin, he let Maxie know that Peter was in bad shape and that the poisoning was intentional. Austin felt confident the person responsible for this Peter wanted him dead.

Other General Hospital spoilers say Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) surprised Carly with Christmas decorations at home.

Sonny told Avery Corinthos (Ava and Grace Scarola) and Donna (Ava Rose) that it wasn’t his choice not to be there last Christmas, but he was excited about being with his kids this year.

While Donna and Avery were making cookies with the nanny, Carly gazed at a “Caroline” keychain in the living room. When Sonny rejoined Carly, he pushed her to open up about her feelings for Jason.

Carly considered that keychain a reminder of when she was pregnant with Michael and showed up on Jason’s doorstep. Jason and Carly spent Christmas together that year, so an emotional Carly suggested she always hangs that keychain up and remembers.

Sonny put the keychain on the tree for Carly, who offered reassurance to her husband. Carly knew that things had been complicated as far as Jason was concerned, but she wanted Sonny to know he was the only man for her.

Carly just wanted to keep being open with each other and felt that was the key to moving forward.

Just before Brad Cooper’s (Parry Shen) parole hearing, Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) and Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) had a tense encounter with Selina Wu (Lydia Look).

Michael made it clear that he didn’t think Brad would go free once the parole board heard his victim impact statement.

Michael eventually got him and told the story of the baby switch, which affected him as well as Willow deeply. Michael made a powerful speech about why Brad should finish out his sentence before Brad was given his turn to speak.

Brad apologized again to Michael and Willow, though he knew no amount of contrition was enough. He mentioned a line in the letter Britt wrote on his behalf about how he was infinitely more capable of virtue than vice. If granted parole, Brad promised to live a life of virtue.

After Michael and Willow headed over to the Corinthos home with Wiley Quartermaine-Corinthos, Michael suggested he was eager to put all the Brad drama behind him.

Sonny ultimately got a call from Selina about Brad’s release being imminent, so he confirmed that a deal was a deal. Carly seemed suspicious over the call, but Sonny suggested everything was fine.

General Hospital spoilers say Michael won’t be happy about the Brad run-in that’s coming up!
