General Hospital Spoilers: Tuesday, June 1 Recap – Gladys Clears Jason & Incriminates Peter – Liz Encounters Austin

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Tuesday, June 1, reveals that Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) risked paralysis of his arm and forced Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) to move forward with the bullet removal. Austin (Roger Howarth) was also rushed to GH, where he encountered Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst).

In another flashforward scene, Peter could once again be seen bleeding from his head wound in the stairwell as a nurse checked his pulse. The ABC soap then took us back to two hours earlier…

In the woods, Brook Lynn was floored as Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) offered a quick explanation of recent events and pushed her to take the baby as planned.

Brook Lynn was hesitant, but Maxie argued that Peter August (Wes Ramsey) was still a threat. She needed Brook Lynn to keep her end of the bargain and make sure Baby Louise would be protected.

Brook Lynn agreed to take the baby, but she convinced Maxie to say a quick goodbye first. Later, Brook Lynn said reassuring things to Baby Lou in her car seat, but even Brook Lynn was definitely battling some doubts about this risky plan.

Next, Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) spotted Peter’s passports as she entered The Invader office. She quickly asked if Peter was going somewhere. Peter tried to act like he was just cleaning out his office safe since he sold The Invader to a private investor.

Anna and Peter took jabs at each other before Peter suggested she was there because she needed something from him. Peter agreed to give Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) another antidote vial, so Anna suggested they could go get it together.

However, Peter warned it didn’t work like that and insisted on meeting Anna back at the hospital.

Before Anna left, she pointed out that Peter had so many chances to make choices and chose the wrong path every time. Anna felt like everyone was going to see Peter for who he really was soon enough.

Once Anna left, Peter left another angry voicemail for “Chloe Jennings” (Kimberly J. Brown) and pushed her to get in touch with him.

At GH, Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen) had Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) with her as she pushed Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) to come clean about the severity of Chase’s condition.

Finn admitted Chase’s condition was indeed more serious than they previously thought – and he was getting worse without a cure.

Liz made up an excuse to pull Finn away before he could spill more. She also gave an inspiring speech about how they wouldn’t let Peter take anything else from them.

Back with Willow, she admitted her guilt over lying to Chase. Michael tried to reassure Willow, but what they were doing was eating her up inside and tainting her love story with Michael.

Brando Corbin (Johnny Wactor) was relieved to find out Gladys Corbin (Bonnie Burroughs) was out of surgery and would pull through. After Brando went to see Gladys, they had a sweet exchange to acknowledge their love.

When Jordan Ashford (Briana Nicole Henry), Gladys was ready to put an end to the Cyrus nightmare by giving her statement.

Gladys confessed that she was kidnapped and tied up in that warehouse because she intended to tell the truth – that she never saw Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) dump the gun.

Gladys insisted Cyrus made her lie to the police and added that Peter August (Wes Ramsey) was the one she really saw that night.

At Portia’s house, she assured Cyrus there was no need for the gun. Portia was willing to help Cyrus and offered to call an ambulance, but he made it clear that he needed the best doctor in his employ to patch him up right there.

Trina Robinson (Sydney Mikayla) came home unexpectedly, so Cyrus confiscated her phone and sent her to get Portia’s medical bag. Soon after, Portia was ready to extract the bullet, but she warned one wrong move could paralyze Cyrus’ arm.

Cyrus guessed he’d better not flinch and Portia had better not make a wrong move then!

Portia wanted to give Cyrus a sedative to help with the pain, but he turned it down since they’d just call for help once he was out of it. Portia told Cyrus to have it his way since he’d probably pass out from the pain anyway.

Once Portia got the bullet out, she got Cyrus to wiggle his fingers and saw that he could still move them. Cyrus also taunted Trina about having the chance to kill her father again and then lost consciousness.

At The Savoy, Laura Collins (Genie Francis) made a special delivery to Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner), who wasn’t as enthusiastic about his framed liquor license as she expected.

Curtis wondered how soon after a divorce was too soon to move on. Laura didn’t think there was any set timetable as long as you followed your heart, but she felt going slow was for the best.

Curtis admitted he already freaked out after a kiss with Portia. Although Curtis has feelings for Portia, he was just a confused mess and didn’t handle it well.

Laura urged Curtis to give Portia a call and smooth things over, so he called while Cyrus was unconscious at Portia’s place. Portia picked up and tried to whisper to Curtis, but Cyrus woke up and forced her to disconnect.

Meanwhile, Austin woke up wondering where the baby was in the woods with Maxie. However, Austin still seemed out of it as he was rushed to GH soon after.

Maxie pushed the medical team to help the man who saved her life – and Liz came over to tell Austin they’d take good care of him before he was wheeled back.

Peter looked stunned to see Maxie sitting there looking somber in her wheelchair. He wondered about the baby as Maxie stared at him coldly. “She’s gone, Peter. The baby’s gone,” Maxie said.
