General Hospital Spoilers Update: Friday, January 22 – Franco Prepares for Death – Carly’s SOS Jax Call – Ned & Olivia Separate

General Hospital (GH) spoilers update for Friday, January 22, teases that Scott Baldwin (Kin Shriner) will get some upsetting news. For starters, Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth) will want to hire Scott as representation.

It’ll trouble Scott to hear that Franco’s already making plans for what happens after his death, but Franco will feel like this is a necessary step.

Franco will also come clean about the new problems in his marriage – and the reason for those problems will stun Scott. General Hospital spoilers say Franco will bring Scott up to speed on the arrangement he made with Jason Morgan (Steve Burton).

Once Scott realizes Jason’s going to kill Franco if he senses trouble, he’ll see exactly why Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) blew her top.

At the boxing gym, Liz will grill Jason about his agreement with Franco and how that’s supposed to go. Elizabeth will wonder what criteria her husband has to meet before Jason kills him.

Liz probably feels like Franco can’t so much as sneeze the wrong way without Jason firing a shot!

Jason will make it clear that killing Franco is a last resort. It’s a move that Jason will make if he has to, but he’ll want to avoid it if possible for Liz and the boys’ sake.

That won’t be good enough for Elizabeth, who’ll forbid Jason from murdering Franco under any circumstances. It’s not Jason’s job to be a hitman in this case.

Liz will want Jason to give her his word that he won’t pump a bullet in Franco. She’ll be desperate to enjoy as much time as she can with her hubby, but she won’t get the promise she’s demanding.

Jason will stand by the lethal deal and vow to murder Franco if he views him as a serious threat.

Meanwhile, Olivia Falconeri (Lisa LoCicero) will feel like she’s made herself a laughingstock. She couldn’t see the cheating cover-up right in front of her, so Olivia will be pretty angry with herself.

Of course, Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) won’t want Olivia blaming herself in any way. He’ll apologize profusely for how all this went down and beg Olivia to let him repair the damage.

Olivia might be able to forgive Ned eventually, but it’s not going to happen anytime soon. She really won’t want to be around Ned right now, so she’ll suggest moving out would probably be a good idea.

Ned won’t want instability for Leo Falconeri (Aaron Bradshaw) and won’t think it’s right for Olivia to move when she did nothing wrong. After Ned says he’ll be the one to move, he’ll once again express remorse and suggest he’ll wait for Olivia no matter how long it takes.

Ned screwed up big time by sleeping with Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn), but Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) staged a whole drunk-driving incident to help cover it up.

Tracy didn’t want Alexis spilling anything, so she framed Alexis for driving under the influence and hoped she’d land in rehab.

Although Tracy will admit her method was unorthodox, she’ll think her heart was in the right place. Tracy will feel like she was just doing her part to save Ned from heartbreak, but he’ll point out that everything isn’t about him.

What about Alexis and the nightmare she’s been through? This also led to Olivia trying to help the very woman who Ned cheated with. What a mess!

Tracy will realize she’ll be under attack if she remains at the Quartermaine mansion, so she’ll try to slip out for a while. Alexis will put a stop to that plan when she corners Tracy and unleashes her fury.

Tracy will take plenty of heat for what she did, but she’ll feel like her efforts were the only thing standing between Ned and a split.

Now that the truth’s out and Ned’s without Tracy’s assistance, she’ll feel like he’s got quite a battle ahead of him. It’ll definitely take some work to win Olivia back, but Ned will hang in there and hope for the best.

Next, Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) will reflect on how Jordan Ashford’s (Briana Nicole Henry) deception has torn apart his marriage. He’ll talk about the damage secrets can do during a chat with Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros), who’ll admit a secret of her own.

Nina will feel a bit bad since Jasper “Jax” Jacks (Ingo Rademacher) is a trustworthy man who values the truth – or so she thinks! She’ll talk to Curtis about how she’s been thinking about her meeting with Phyllis Caulfield (Juliette Jeffries).

Although Nina hinted to Jax that she was done looking for her child, so she won’t be so sure she can just abandon the search permanently.

Curtis may think Nina has to follow her heart and exhaust all options or else she’ll always have to wonder. Nevertheless, Curtis may also warn that Nina should be prepared for disappointment or even devastation.

If Nina’s determined to find out the real story, she has to be prepared for the possibility that she won’t like what she hears.

GH fans know dead Nelle Benson Jerome (Chloe Lanier) is Nina’s biological daughter, so the real story is indeed a brutal one. Jax is keeping that news under wraps along with Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright), who’s hoping to keep Avery Corinthos’ (Ava and Grace Scarola) necklace tucked away forever.

Too bad Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) already gave it to Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West)!

Once Carly learns Ava came over looking for the half-heart pendant, she’ll quickly grow fearful. Carly will hold out hope that maybe Josslyn turned Ava away, but Joss will confess that she retrieved the pendant and offered it for Avery’s sake.

Carly’s expression will tell Josslyn that perhaps it was the wrong choice, but Carly may try to hide how terrified she is. She might claim she just doesn’t like Ava barging in and pushing Josslyn to hand over things.

Josslyn will sense that something’s wrong, but we’ll see if Carly can convince her daughter everything’s fine.

General Hospital spoilers say Jax will get an SOS call afterward, so he’ll meet up with Carly as soon as possible. Carly will fill Jax in on the necklace blunder and insist they have to get it back.

Jax won’t think there’s any reasonable way to do that and won’t even want to try. He’ll feel like they have to accept that Nina’s going to find out the truth soon.

However, Carly will form a strategy to swipe the necklace – presumably from Avery’s room at Wyndemere. She’ll call in reinforcements next week by using Bobbie Spencer (Jacklyn Zeman) as a distraction, but there’ll be some snags along the way.

As other GH updates emerge, we’ll bring you more details. General Hospital spoilers say Carly will dig a bigger hole for herself, so stay tuned. Don’t forget to stop by CDL regularly for hot General Hospital spoilers, updates and news posts!
