General Hospital (GH) spoilers update for Monday, August 9, teases that Austin Gatlin Holt (Roger Howarth) will manipulate sad Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) while Shawn Butler (Sean Blakemore) grills Naomi Dreyfus (Gigi Bermingham). Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) will also suspect Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) has gone too far, so here’s what you can expect in Monday’s show.
At Spring Ridge, Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) will initially try to keep Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) calm following her letter discovery.
They now know Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom) tried to correspond with Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez), so Nikolas will obviously freak out as his mind swirls with dangerous possibilities.
Alexis will eventually decide panicking is perhaps the right idea! Ryan is a serial killer, so the fact that he wrote Spencer a letter is definitely concerning.
Nikolas will be even more worried about Spencer potentially teaming up with Ryan, so he’ll plan to corner his son and push for answers.
Next, Michael will exhibit some weird behavior that leaves Brook Lynn curious.
Brook Lynn may sense that Michael and Willow Chase (Katelyn MacMullen) crossed the line – and they indeed did when they hooked up at the gatehouse recently.
Brook Lynn doesn’t want to see Chase wind up any more devastated than he has to be. She might back Michael into a corner and threaten to tell Chase herself if he doesn’t come clean soon.
Of course, Willow is really the one who needs to confess since she’s Chase’s wife – even if she only married him because he was deathly ill.
Willow will make a hard choice on Monday, but she’ll think it’s the right one. It appears Willow will be prepared to break the news of her love for Michael and let Chase down as gently as possible. The problem is Chase has already figured it out!
Chase’s anger will start to fade somewhat as he decides to just let Willow go. He won’t want to be the guy who stands in the way of true love, but Austin won’t think it’s fair for Chase to suffer for nothing.
Michael and Willow’s deception may have started with good intentions, but they still shouldn’t be sneaking around and sleeping together behind Chase’s back. With that in mind, Austin will push for a mutually beneficial arrangement.
Austin is trying to get his hands on a piece of the Quartermaine pie – and it turns out there could be critical documents in Edward Quartermaine’s (John Ingle) old office.
Chase is currently a Quartermaine mansion dweller, so it’s in the prime position to help Austin get inside that office and find some evidence to support Austin’s claims to the family fortune.
Austin will pitch this as a way to make Michael pay in some small way. He’ll think it’s the least Michael deserves for hitting the sheets with Willow and lying to Chase’s face.
Chase is in a vulnerable place emotionally, so he’ll be easy to manipulate. It sounds like Chase will indeed join Austin’s team and gear up for some vengeance.
Chase will have to keep putting on an act around Willow while Austin seeks the proof he needs. That task could get a bit tougher if Willow’s trying to make a confession!
Scott Baldwin (Kin Shriner) will want to get the show on the road when it comes to collecting the cash, so Austin will hope to turn his slim chance into a slam dunk. The potential documents in Edward’s old office could do just that.
Other GH spoilers say Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) will get a message that’s rather puzzling. It’ll be like someone’s trying to hide this communication – and it looks like that someone will be Naomi Dreyfus.
It’ll be odd to Sam and Shawn since Hayden Barnes’ (Rebecca Budig) mom could’ve just reached out to talk to them directly.
Only Naomi knows for sure what she’s doing and why, so Shawn will finally get in touch with her and get a chance to ask some questions.
At the Metro Court pool, Trina Robinson (Sydney Mikayla) will try to relax since there’s nothing she can do about her mom’s cheating history anyway.
Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) hurt Trina with her deception, but Spencer will come up with a way to put a smile on Trina’s face.
This could involve some party planning since a big bash is indeed coming up at Wyndemere.
Naturally, Spencer will have to face Nikolas’ interrogation about Ryan first! That’s on the way within the next couple episodes, so we’ll pass along updates as other GH details emerge.
