General Hospital Spoilers: Wednesday, August 4 Recap – Harmony Helps Ryan Write Letters – Chase’s Chooses Marriage

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Wednesday, August 4, reveals that Harmony Miller (Inga Cadranel) helped Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom) write letters while Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) seemingly made the decision to fight for his marriage. Stella Henry (Vernee Watson) also collapsed, so let’s talk about Wednesday’s action-packed episode.

Outside Kelly’s, Laura Collins (Genie Francis) quizzed Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) about why he changed his mind about coming home and where all his resentment went.

Spencer replied that life was too short for judgment and regrets. He felt he was making headway in his relationship with Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) and asked about Laura’s husband.

Laura thought it was strange that Spencer didn’t call Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom) by name and wondered if he had a problem with Kevin. Spencer suggested he didn’t have an issue with the illustrious doctor and brother of Ryan Chamberlain.

That left Laura irritated since Kevin was nothing like Ryan, but Spencer argued that Kevin should’ve come forward about his twin being alive right away instead of secretly treating him at Ferncliff.

Laura asked if she was on Spencer’s resentment list, but he assured his grandmother that she was the one person who had never failed him.

Spencer also felt like things would be better with Nikolas now that his father was ending his foolish marriage.

Once Laura went inside with Spencer, she confessed she was hoping the divorce didn’t pan out.

Spencer felt it would if Ava knew what was good for her and noted that he had a conversation with her about sending mixed signals – which could be dangerous if the stalker didn’t buy the breakup.

Laura was skeptical of Spencer forming an alliance with his sworn enemy, but Spencer acted like he was capable of finding common ground with anyone.

When Spencer referred to the stalker’s “pranks,” Laura felt that her grandson was understating the danger. She pointed out the stalker had involved a young target by roping Avery Corinthos (Ava and Grace Scarola) into all this.

The fake blood situation at the gallery also proved the stalker was sinister in Laura’s opinion.

After the conversation shifted back to Ava, Laura admitted that she saw how happy Nikolas was in his relationship. Laura wondered if maybe seeing Ava’s sacrifice had changed Spencer’s hatred for her – at least a little bit.

At GH, Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) explained to Trina Robinson (Sydney Mikayla) that she’d been trying to protect her by not revealing anything about her old affair.

Trina suggested Portia was actually trying to protect herself, so Portia admitted that might be true on some level. Even so, Portia didn’t think she was obligated to fill Trina in on every detail of her past.

As for Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner), Portia assured Trina that he didn’t know she was married when they got together and that he ended it as soon as he found out.

Trina wondered if Portia had been waiting for Curtis all this time. She asked if Portia had been in love with Curtis all these years, but Portia insisted she wasn’t waiting for anyone – though sometimes feelings like that don’t just go away.

At Kelly’s, Stella Henry (Vernee Watson) was an emotional wreck as she gave Curtis updates on the secret spillage. Curtis advised against letting Stella’s blood pressure spike.

Curtis was clearly upset, but he felt like the best thing Stella could do was stay out of it and let him go do damage control with Portia as well as Trina.

Back with Trina, she felt like maybe there was more that Portia and Curtis weren’t telling her. Suddenly, Curtis got off the elevator and walked over to apologize for Stella’s actions.

However, Trina felt she needed to apologize for thinking Curtis was the cheater when it wasn’t him at all.

Since Trina needed some time alone, she rushed off and left Portia distraught. Portia cried about her past mistake hurting the person she loved most, so Curtis did his best to comfort her.

At the Quartermaine mansion, Chase found Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) and Willow Chase (Katelyn MacMullen) snapping a pic with Wiley Quartermaine-Corinthos (Erik and Theo Olson).

Chase mentioned it being an “ideal family photo” and eventually thanked his “buddy” Michael for consoling Willow earlier.

It seemed like Chase was going to confront Michael and Willow at first, but he eventually backed out of the idea.

Chase told Willow he was going to turn in early, but he reminded her to have Wiley open his present after Michael’s since it was batteries and accessories for his toy.

Willow gushed that Chase thought of everything, but he frowned and countered that he missed things sometimes.

When Willow leaned in for a kiss, Chase backed his chair up and urged Willow not to keep Wiley waiting on his account. When Willow reconvened with Michael, she admitted something felt off with Chase.

Meanwhile, Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) talked to Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) about Austin Gatlin Holt (Roger Howarth).

Brook Lynn felt like Valentin was always plotting all his steps in advance, but he pointed out that the night they made “Bailey Quartermaine” aka Louise August (Harper and Scarlett Bloom) was the greatest impulse he ever acted on.

Over with Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson), she approached Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) to congratulate her on the engagement.

Cameron Webber (William Lipton) also found Carly so he could discuss his intentions with Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy). He was apologetic about hurting Josslyn when he accused Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) of killing Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth).

Carly didn’t blame Cameron for that, but she was concerned about Cam picking up the gun in the parking garage. She pointed out that it was one thing to make a misstep like that when Cam wasn’t dating her daughter – but to do it when Cam was dating Joss was quite another.

Cameron understood and ultimately got Josslyn’s approval on the conversation since she’d been watching nearby.

After Cameron and Josslyn headed to Kelly’s, Cam and Spencer clashed briefly. Laura pushed Spencer to go easy on Cameron since he’d had a rough time since Franco died.

Cameron told Stella that Curtis had taken care of her bill, but she seemed pretty out of it as she struggled to remember his name. After Stella handed over a tip, she collapsed and left Cameron in a panic.

Back at the Quartermaine mansion, Wiley’s birthday party continued. Chase found Austin and wondered if the doc could help him pack his things.

Chase wanted to get out of there, but Austin suggested that Chase shouldn’t throw his marriage away until he knew there was nothing worth salvaging. Since Chase was a fighter, Austin pushed him to stay and fight.

When Willow came out of the living room with Michael, Chase said he decided he couldn’t turn in without kissing his beautiful wife and telling her sweet dreams.

After Willow’s little peck, Chase told his “love” goodnight as Michael stood there watching.

At Spring Ridge, Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) was surprised to learn Harmony was working there as a health aide. Harmony was pleasant as she interacted with Ryan and gave him a “tasty bag of protein.”

Harmony explained that Ryan was locked in, but she assured Alexis that his mind functioned just fine and that he could still communicate.

Alexis asked if Ryan was a twin and got one blink for yes. She asked if he had two kidneys, so he blinked twice for no.

When Alexis asked if Ryan was still obsessed with Ava, he offered no response – leading Harmony to suggest he was probably getting tired.

Alexis found it hard to believe that Harmony’s interest was strictly professional. She suggested Harmony was perhaps enthralled with another charismatic villain and wondered if Harmony was trying to resurrect DOD with a new figurehead.

Harmony defended the changes she’d made in her life and felt she’d paid for her crimes in more ways than one. She insisted she needed this job, which she worked along with the one she still had at Turning Woods.

Harmony added that she was just grateful to be out of prison and hopefully getting another opportunity with her daughter and grandson.

Later, Alexis seemed curious as Harmony held up a board that allowed Ryan to communicate even further. She found out that Harmony helps Ryan write letters and looked unnerved.

General Hospital spoilers say Ryan’s new reign of terror may be just around the corner, so keep watching!
