General Hospital Spoilers: Wednesday, February 17 Recap - Curtis & Jordan Separate - Dante Meets The New Sam - Cyrus' Bad Drug

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Wednesday, February 17, reveal that Phyllis Caulfield (Joyce Guy) returned to the Tan-O Bar from her trip to Port Charles. Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) told Phyllis about his dream and remembering a woman with blonde hair. Phyllis remarked that Sonny’s ring could be a wedding ring after all.

Lenny Caulfield (Rif Hutton) and Phyllis took off for home, leaving “Mike” in charge of the bar. Sonny stopped a drunk guy from driving home, and he left the bar with the guy, either to take him home or to put him in a cab. Later, Phyllis and Lenny came back to find the bar vandalized, and Sonny walked in.

At Jordan Ashford (Briana Nicole Henry) office, Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) came for a visit. Jordan had summoned Curtis to talk about going to counseling, but Curtis balked at the idea.

Curtis wanted a separation so that he could find out who he was and so that they could both clear their heads. Jordan was heartbroken, and after Curtis left, she gazed at their wedding picture and cried.

At the hospital, Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) cajoled Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) into attending the meeting of the GH board he called. Portia Robinson (Brooke Kerr) noticed the conversation from afar and walked over to Britt and Cyrus.

Britt walked off, and Cyrus told Portia that she should come to the board meeting, too.

Later, at the board meeting, Cyrus told the assembled members about the research project he had spearheaded in the hospital labs. Cyrus explained that GH was ready to enter the field of pain management – an enormous market.

Cyrus passed out booklets to the members, and they seemed taken by the idea of approving Cyrus’ proposal.

Suddenly, Lesley Webber (Denise Alexander) appeared in the doorway of the boardroom, saying that she objected to the proposal. Cyrus pointed out that Lesley was an emeritus member and didn’t get a vote. Lesley suggested that those who can vote should use it wisely.

After Lesley left, Cyrus put Britt on the spot about his research, and Britt said that while the findings were impressive, this wasn’t her field of expertise.

Portia piped up, saying that Cyrus was in prison for over a decade and that an addictive narcotic was involved here. The other board members stood up for Cyrus.

Cyrus noted that Portia didn’t have a vote, but she said that she could block Cyrus’ motion for an immediate unanimous vote. Cyrus was peeved, but he said that he’d simply present the proposal to the board at their regular meeting in a couple days.

Later, Cyrus and Lesley bickered out by the nurses’ hub, while Britt called Jason Morgan (Steve Burton). Cyrus then talked with Portia, who argued that the drug that Cyrus was trying to push could open the hospital up to lawsuits.

Cyrus noted that his offer regarding Marcus Taggert (Asante Jones) still stood. Portia saw Curtis from afar, and she rushed over and said that she needed to talk with him about Jordan.

At the cemetery, Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) caused a major scene in front of Sonny’s friends and family by saying that she knew what Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) and Jasper “Jax” Jacks (Ingo Rademacher) had done to Nelle Benson Jerome (Chloe Lanier).

The others dispersed, leaving Carly, Jax, Nina, Jason, and Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy) on the scene.

Nina ranted, calling out Carly and Jax for knowing what had happened to Nelle but not saying anything. Carly could only take so much of this, and she pointed out that just hours before she died, Nelle had slashed Brook Lynn Quartermaine’s (Briana Lane) throat. Nina wondered if Carly really tried to save Nelle.

Carly insisted that she tried to save Nelle despite what she had done, and that Nina was proving exactly why she and Jax didn’t tell the truth. Nina turned on Carly, calling her a horrible person with a city full of enablers.

Carly fired back that Nina wasn’t perfect either, since she basically cut Avery Corinthos (Ava and Grace Scarola) out of Ava Jerome Cassadine’s (Maura West) womb.

Nina barreled on, hurling more insults Carly’s way and saying that Sonny fell to his death just like Carly watched Nelle do. Nina stormed off and Jax tried to go after her, but Nina blasted him as well, calling him a liar just like everyone else.

At the Quartermaine mansion, Olivia Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero), Dante Falconeri (Dominick Zamprogna), and Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) walked in and were greeted by Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson).

Monica learned about the scene at the cemetery, and Sam and Dante went into the living room together.

Sam and Dante had drinks and decompressed. Sam noted that it wasn’t easy not being with Jason at the funeral, but that the events of the day crystallized things for her and let her know where she stands. “Sounds like you’re embarking on a new chapter,” Dante said.

Sam and Dante agreed that they were interested in getting to know the “new Sam.”

In the foyer, Olivia talked with Monica about Ned Quartermaine’s (Wally Kurth) infidelity. Monica encouraged Olivia to stay at the mansion and not move out, since she had become a Quartermaine. Later, Monica answered the door to Lesley, who said that she needed Monica’s help to expose Cyrus as the monster that he is.

At the Corinthos house, Diane, Carly, Jax, and Jason arrived, and Diane wanted to know the whole truth about what happened with Nelle on the cliff. A very peeved Diane listened as Jax and Carly spilled what really happened with Nelle and how Carly tried to save her but failed.

Diane was upset that Carly lied to the police, and she thought that it was too soon to know the legal ramifications.

Jason got the text from Britt and had to go, and Diane explained to Carly and Jax that the Philadelphia authorities had already closed Nelle’s case. Diane thought that the PCPD might just let the whole matter go if there wasn’t any outside pressure.

Back at the hospital, Jason and Britt met in the boardroom. Britt said that Cyrus ambushed her at the board meeting, and that he had presented his new plan for the pain medication and intended to fast track it.

Britt said that she played along, but that this was a highly addictive drug. Jason thought that Cyrus was fast-tracking the drug because Sonny is gone and he sees an opening.

Back at Jordan’s office, Nina walked in. “I have new information to report about the murder of Nelle Benson,” Nina told Jordan.
