Tonight’s episode begins with a teen boy playing football on the field at night alone. Ethan arrives. He tells him how bad he and the team are. He can help. He brings him to Landon who is really Malivore. They pin the teen down.
At the school, Ric, Hope, and the others look for ways to find Malivore. Hope is still mad they didn’t tell her about Landon. Cleo roams around alone. Lizzie vents to MG. She feels bad about Ethan and somehow blames him. MG feels like he didn’t help Ethan either.
Angry, Hope fights a soldier of Malivore’s. Josie tries to talk to Finch who is still mad about the Merge. Hope stabs the monster. The others come out of nowhere. They all look at the monster who turns back into Blake, a fellow classmate. Hope is devasted. She needs to become a Tribrid. Ric disagrees. They fight over it. She tells him to leave. It isn’t his choice.
Ric calls everyone to the library. He wants to find a way to pull Malivore out of the people he is infecting. They get to work. Meanwhile, Hope visits Raf. They sit and talk while he fishes. She talks about making a choice to kill Malivore. Landon will die. Raf tells her Landon would make the sacrifice.
Dorian comes to Ric. He feels Ric needs to support Hope. MG and Kaleb talk about the greater good and the hard choice. Kaleb has his own choice to make. MG snaps his neck. He will forgive him he hopes when he wakes. MG had to stop him. Cleo continues to search.
Ric and the others find Hope. They want to support her. She can turn with them safely. She smiles, happy for the support and love.
Cleo wakes in a forest and finds Jed. They rush to find the others. She knows something about Malivore. The others are all having a feast, telling funny stories before Hope turns. Later, Hope tells Ric she is ready.
Cleo realizes she isn’t home but still in the darkness. Malivore pretended to be Jed. Meanwhile, Kale arrives to meet Malivore who is with Ethan. Kaleb has an offer.
Ric and Hope share a moment. He preps her for what is to come. He also has a surprise. Her aunt arrives. Her other aunts and uncles wanted to come but couldn’t. They spend time talking about family.
Josie and Finch talk about the Merge. Ric and Lizzie also talk about the Merge. Josie begs Finch to stay. Yes, she could be gone one day but she wants her to fight.
Hope turns as her aunt stays with her. Kaleb returns to the school and attacks MG. He made a deal to save Cleo. Lizzie comes in to find MG on the floor.
