In tonight’s NCIS premiere episode, Gibbs was put on suspension. He was suspended after he attacked a suspect unprovoked and so Gibbs could have distanced himself from the world or get caught up in the boat he was making. He instead used his free time to help track down a serial killer. Gibbs had been helping Marcie Warren. She was the journalist that wrote a very honest expose on him and so she knew he was skilled.

She knew he catches killers for a living. She then turned to him for help because a friend of hers had been murdered and she had wanted to solve the crime, but as it happens, her friend’s death had been one of many. The killer proved to be a serial killer. He or she was following the investigation into them and that’s why he or she tried to kill Gibbs.

Gibbs had taken his new boat out on the lake. It blew up and he managed to survive. Gibbs suffered a wound to the stomach. He swam out of the lake and he went to the ground. He was in hiding. While he was hiding, he managed to cover his tracks. No one knew he survived the boat bomb and so authorities were looking for a body. The deputies called in NCIS to inform them about the bomb.

McGee and Torres went straight to the scene. They wanted to be there to identify the body if a body was ever found and something strange happened. They found a body. It just wasn’t Gibbs. It was the body of a young woman and she looks like she had been in the water for months. Everyone thought the body of this woman was in contact with Gibbs.

The deputy at the scene even asked the team what their boss had been up to? They hadn’t been able to answer the question because Gibbs pushed them away during his suspension and so NCIS took over. They claimed jurisdiction because Gibbs was one of their own.

They also claimed the new body because McGee suspected that couldn’t be a coincidence she was found where someone tried to kills Gibbs and to make matters worse they were down two agents. They had been making do without Gibbs with McGee stepping up in the leadership department. At the time, it had been him and Torres and Bishop. Bishop was unfortunately no longer with them because she decided to join the CIA.

Bishop also torched her career at NCIS before she left. Which means there was no way of her coming back for the investigation. Not that she knew about it because she left town before the news was revealed and she left Jimmy in charge of selling her house. Both Torres and McGee were lost without her. They were also upset about in their own different ways and so they were at each other’s throats while trying to find Gibbs.

It was great that Kasie came in when she did or else the guys would have still been yelling at each other. Kasie had given Gibbs a bug finder to help him track down his serial killer and that was technically the property of NCIS. Kasie made sure to put a tracker in the bug-finder.

It was currently turned off. They couldn’t find where Gibbs is but they could locate where he was by checking the GPS about it and that gave them a place to start. The two agents also had a new member of their team to work with. They were now working with Special Agent Knight. She came off to leave to help them investigate the case and she was glad to be back to knocking down doors.

She had been on leave because she herself had been involved in an explosion that killed her whole team. Knight was an experienced agent. McGee asked for her personally and she was a good fit for the team. She knew what she was doing. With her joining them, the guys were able to find Marcie’s office.

They went there. They found it ransacked and no trace of Marcie. It turns out Marcie was at NCIS Headquarters. She found them to ask about Gibbs. She had heard about the boat bomb and she wanted to know if he was okay. They hadn’t been able to give her an answer. Only Gibbs later called them. Gibbs told them to give Marcie round-the-clock protection and he refuses to say where he was or what condition.

Gibbs’s wounds had gotten treated by an elderly couple who found him not long after the explosion. The couple had mistrusted him at first because he told them “no cops” and it wasn’t until a fake deputy came around asking if they saw anything that they realized Gibbs was telling them the truth. Someone was out to kill him. And that person is still looking for him.

Gibs plans on finding that person first. The elderly couple told him about the trouble going on in the North Shore part of the lake and how their delivery woman disappeared after her boyfriend became involved in the North Shore. Gibbs had been heading up there anyways to look for Camila Silas. She disappeared. She also fit the serial killer’s MO for their victims. She was last seen in the North Shore area of the lake and that’s where Gibbs was going when his boat blew up. Gibbs headed out to that area to pick up where he left off. He ended up running into his team and Knight. They spoke with Marcie and she told them about Camila.

Gibbs and his team were in the area when the fake deputy showed up with his men. NCIS was able to surround them and arrest them. The fake deputy was a drug dealer. He stole the uniform from his brother who was an actual deputy and he went looking around for anyone who might have spilled information on his “business”. He just didn’t kill anyone. The serial killer was still out there and Gibbs wanted to go after him. He wanted to do it alone and McGee wouldn’t hear it. He was going to help Gibbs whether he liked it or not. He said as much to Gibbs and Gibbs in his own way had accepted the offer.

THE END!
