Tonight on CW their drama Riverdale airs with an all-new Wednesday, February 17, 2021, season 5 episode 5 called, “Chapter Eighty-One: The Homecoming,” and we have your Riverdale recap below. On tonight’s Riverdale season 5 episode 4 as per the CW synopsis, “Toni (Vanessa Morgan), Alice (Mädchen Amick), Archie (KJ Apa) and Kevin (Casey Cott) fight to 5keep Riverdale High’s doors open after learning that its budget had been cut by Hiram Lodge (Mark Consuelos).
Veronica (Camila Mendes) gets creative when she discovers Chad (guest star Chris Mason) is having her followed. Jughead (Cole Sprouse) starts a new job after debt collectors show up in Riverdale.”

Jug and Betty are walking and talking. He wonders why she didn’t reach out. She explains she didn’t think he wanted to hear from her. After Pop’s retirement party, Betty has to get back to work while Jug shares that he has a book to write. On the other side of town, Archie tells Veronica on a walk that she was the last serious relationship he has had. All 4 of them head to their old homes. Betty wonders where Polly is. Her mom is acting funny. Ronnie looks around her old home with the furnace all covered.
Ronnie visits her dad. She wants back into the family business. She and Chad plan to buy a weekend home in Riverdale. He doesn’t have much to offer her. Meanwhile, Jug asks Toni for a job. He has some bills to pay. Some of the serpents show up. They don’t like how he wrote a book about them. They tell him to watch his back.
Archie finds out that Riverdale High might be shit down. Their funding has been cut. They can stay open if they find more resources and staff. He meets later with Alice, Toni, Kevin, and more to see what they can do.
Jug tries to get a job at Pops but his granddad turns her down. Hiram visits Toni at the bar to talk her into joining sides with him. She turns him down. Meanwhile, Archie spies on his old house from Betty’s. Ghoulies have turned his home into a drug den. He plans to take them down. Betty offers help. Archie heads to the sheriff. Reggie is on Hiram’s payroll, Tom tells him. Archie plans to take things into his own hands then.
Ronnie tries to buy a few things. Her credit cards aren’t working. She calls Chad. He tells her he is working on it. Smithers comes in. A car has been watching the house. She wonders if it’s her dad or Chad. She has a plan. She heads to the pawnshop in a wig, sells a few things, and buys a gun.
Betty wakes from a nightmare before hearing a noise. She grabs her gun and comes down the stairs. Its Polly. It’s 3 am. They head to have tea and talk. Polly tells her how they have missed her. Betty wants to work on their relationship.
Betty and Alice talk in the morning at breakfast. Betty worries Polly is working at a shady bar. Alice tells her she cannot just pop in and judge. Toni shows up. Hiram has hired a reporter to write a bad piece about her for the school board. Alice will do damage control.
Archie meets with Reggie to go through his home. They don’t find drugs but Archie sees Polly. He heads to tell Betty. The Ghoulies smile. Meanwhile, Jug hides behind the counter at Pop’s when he sees debt collectors coming. Pop and his granddaughter cover for him. Pop’s granddaughter gives in. He can waiter for them.
As part of her master plan, Ronnie heads to buy a car in cash while Archie, Tom, Betty and more take back his house by storming the place and taking out the Ghoulies.
Betty calls his workplace and discovers Polly hasn’t worked in over a year. Across town, Tony meets with Archie, Alice, and more. She has discovered that Hiram has a plan to shut the entire town no just the school.
Ronnie heads to see her dad. She asks her dad for help dealing with Chad. He laughs at her. She called him a dog seven years ago so now she needs to help herself.
Betty confronts Polly about hanging with the Ghoulies and not actually working. Polly tells her she hasn’t been around so it’s really none of her business. Betty has to help aren’t you clean up his house. Jug finally looks to be over his writers’ block.
After cleaning, Betty and Archie need to clean up. They end up in the shower together. After they agree that it is a long time coming. And it’s OK because neither one of them are with anyone else.
The gang all shows up to celebrate Pop’s retirement. Cheryl shows up. Toni tells her all about their fight with Hiram. They need her help. Cheryl still believes she is cursed. Toni asked her to do it for her.
Betty, Archie, Ronnie, and Jug meet at the high school that night. Archie pleads with them about what they need to do to save the town. Sadly, the next day Hiram wins at a town meeting after the majority votes to dissolve the town.
Jug gets a call from his agent. His book is good. He needs to keep writing about this small town that is a mess. The jug doesn’t want to. But his agent tells him he needs to.
Betty is worried about Polly who hasn’t come home while Ronnie has decided to stay and teach in Riverdale. She tells Chad. She also demands he unfreeze the credit cards.
Jug shows up at Archie’s. He wonders if he needs a roommate. Archie welcomes him in. Across town, Polly runs from truck lights in the dark coming for her while Betty leaves her a voicemail.
