In tonight’s So Freaking Cheap episode, the episode begins with the Watson family, Shelley is at the Botanical Gardens because they are considering it as a potential venue for Brittney and Shane’s wedding. Ashley took the photos at the estate sale, so that saved a lot of money. Shelly is doubting that this venue is going to be within her $750 budget. In July and August, there is a 50% discount, Shelly is excited. Brittney loves it there, she hopes they can do it here. They participate in a free tasting. Shelley asks how much it would cost for about 15 people, she is told that it is $75 per person.
Ashley says that there is no way Brittney is having her wedding there. Shelly asks questions to see if she can save money on the menu, but it doesn’t appear that she can. The tasting was amazing, Shelly asks for doggie bags. After the tasting, Shelly finds out that there is a base fee of $2200 for just having the wedding there. Shelly says her budget is $750, one of the staff, Patrick, wishes her good luck with finding a venue. Brittney finds it is unfair and doesn’t know why her mom brought her there in the first place. Brittney tells her mom that she wasted the staff’s time and got her hopes up for nothing.
On to the Clayton family, Tony is out shopping with Ciara, he doesn’t stand for impulse buying, he brings a list for her girl’s night in. Ciara says shopping with her dad is horrible because he is so cheap. He won’t buy brand names anything. Tony calls himself a bottom feeder, he shops on the bottom shelf where the cheap stuff is. Tony actually goes to the back of the store and buys bruised fruit for a discount. Tony found everything he needs for the girl’s night in and he feels like a star because he didn’t spend a lot of money.
The Tran Family is out trying samples of ice cream, Elizabeth, Rosanna, and Charisma are trying one flavor after the other, the owner, Frank, is looking forward to them buying a cone and stop sampling. After their free sampling, they leave the store. Then, the girls head to a store that sells massage chairs, it is Mother’s day and a spa day for the women. Rosanna is in a spa chair and gets a massage while Rosanna does her nails for Mother’s day. Charisma is sitting on a mattress playing on her phone, things have been tense between her and her mom since pageant day.
The Watson women are at the chiropractor, Brittney is getting a treatment done. Brittney is so stressed by the wedding, she wants to think her mom is doing all this so they can save money, but she doesn’t trust her. Shelley is in the waiting room and comes up with an idea, have the wedding in the chiropractor’s office. Ashley knows that Brittney is not going to be happy with this. Shelley loves the idea and she believes she convinced Ashley.
Now, she is going to approach Dr. Lina and see if they can get it for free. Shelley asks Dr. Lina if they could have the wedding there, Dr. Lina is shocked. Awkward. Shelley tells her that she will get free advertising and they can get a free venue. Dr. Lina gives in, she says if Brittney is ok with it, then it is fine. Shelley breaks the news to Brittney who looks like she is going to fall over in shock, she asks her mom if she is joking. Brittney gets up, says no, and walks out, she is tired of not having an opinion about her wedding. Brittney says the wedding is off, they are not going through with this.
Charisma is upset, she doesn’t want to be in pageants anymore and she is worried that her mother cares more about saving money than about her. Charisma wants to enter the modeling world, her mother tells her yes, they will do it, but with a plan, it has to be safe and frugal.
Time for the Clayton family to have the girl’s night in and Tony thinks the girls are going to be really happy. Angela hopes Tony vanishes when the girls arrive. Tony Googled how to make natural face masks. They start with putting some avocado type of mask on with a cabbage mask. Then, Tony delivers up some pizza in an old pizza delivery box. He got frozen pizzas and he overcooked them. The girls think Angela needs to put her foot down more, the cheapness doesn’t work. Tony starts counting down, Angela and Ciera know what is going on. At ten o-clock Tony cuts the lights to save money. Angela goes outside and speaks to Tony, she tells him it is embarrassing and Tony did not live up to what he said he was going to do.
