The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers recap for Monday, August 9, reveals that Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown) told her side of the adoption story and revealed why she stayed away all these years. Sheila also became John “Finn” Finnegan’s (Tanner Novlan) shocking guest of honor, so here’s how it all went down.
At the Forrester mansion on Monday’s B&B episode, everyone quizzed Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) about her honeymoon plans.
Steffy insisted that every day was like a honeymoon with Finn. She added that Finn was dealing with a phone call about a patient, but she promised he’d be back soon.
Nearby, Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) and Brooke Forrester (Katherine Kelly Lang) had a chat with Jack Finnegan (Ted King) and Li Finnegan (Naomi Matsuda).
Ridge was glad the wedding came without any drama or interruptions, but Jack was the one who seemed most relieved about that.
At the Forrester guesthouse, Sheila confirmed she was indeed Finn’s birth mother. She worried she shouldn’t have come – especially today – but she couldn’t stay away on Finn’s wedding day.
Although Sheila knew she was a total stranger to Finn, she insisted she gave birth to him and regretted ever giving him up.
Sheila assured Finn that she’d never forgotten about him and that she’d followed his life as well as his career from afar. Finn was bewildered and said he needed a minute to wrap his head around all this.
Finn didn’t understand why Sheila wanted to meet him now, but Sheila argued that she had to congratulate Finn on marrying a woman as amazing as Steffy Forrester.
Sheila added that she had a grandchild now and felt Finn was going to have an amazing life. She wished she could be part of it, but she knew that wasn’t possible.
Sheila talked about seeing the wedding announcement online and knowing she had to come. She explained that she didn’t contact Finn in all these years because she didn’t want to disrupt things with his wonderful new family.
Sheila pointed out that she had a lot of trouble in her past and wouldn’t have been a great influence on Finn’s life.
All Sheila ever wanted for Finn was his happiness, though she wished she could’ve given him that herself.
Sheila told Finn she was so proud of the man he’d become, but she didn’t think it was a good idea when he pushed her to meet his wife and the rest of the family.
However, Finn refused to let Sheila walk out of his life now that he’d found her.
Finn felt confident Sheila would make this day even better and embraced her before taking her back to the main house.
Back with Li, she told the rest of the wedding guests about Finn being the light of her life from the moment she first held him.
Li admitted she thought about Finn’s birth mother from time to time. She could only imagine what it’d be like for Finn’s birth mom to see him on his wedding day.
An uncomfortable Jack steered the conversation back to the happy couple as everyone continued to wonder what was keeping Finn.
Suddenly, Finn came in and declared that the most incredible thing had happened. He revealed that he’d met someone – and then Sheila stepped in the doorway.
After Brooke dropped her glass and uttered Sheila’s name, there was a chorus of “Sheila?!” around the room.
Steffy, Ridge, Eric Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) and the others looked absolutely floored to see this unwelcome guest.
