The Bold and the Beautiful Spoilers: Tuesday, December 21 Recap – Taylor Doesn’t Need a Man – Shuts Down Brooke's Quiz

The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers recap for Tuesday, December 21, reveals that Taylor Hayes (Krista Allen) said she didn’t need a man to define her and shut down Brooke Forrester’s (Katherine Kelly Lang) dating quiz. Let’s talk about how things played out on Tuesday’s drama-filled B&B episode.

At Il Giardino, Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan) ordered a nonalcoholic beer and moseyed up to the bar with Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown). Deacon had big news to spill, but Sheila wasn’t going to sit around and play 20 questions.

Sheila urged Deacon to just reveal who was back in town, so he asked who the one person was that hated Sheila more than Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood).

Deacon ultimately confirmed he was talking about Taylor, so Sheila fumed over Steffy having an ally to whisper in her ear.

Sheila complained since Deacon was making all this progress while Steffy continued to hold a grudge – and Deacon pointed out Steffy would have Mommy for backup now!

However, Sheila warned that Steffy needed to stop standing in her way.

Sheila also thought Taylor’s return could bring an opportunity for Deacon since it’d add another crack to Brooke’s marriage.

After Sheila brought the conversation back to Steffy’s interference, she felt Taylor was going to make it even harder to see John “Finn” Finnegan (Tanner Novlan).

At the cliff house, Steffy walked in after witnessing Taylor and Ridge Forrester’s (Thorsten Kaye) close moment. Seeing the two of them smiling like this was about as good as it gets from Steffy’s perspective.

Taylor admitted she just told Ridge that she’d always love him, but she wasn’t trying to cross any lines. She assured Ridge that she respected his marriage to Brooke and that she was just trying to learn how to speak her truth.

Taylor reflected on warm “Tridge” memories, but she suggested he just hit a rough patch with Brooke and truly wanted him to be happy.

At the office later, Steffy found herself energized by Taylor’s homecoming and talked to Ridge about how they needed to do a better job of speaking their truths, too.

Steffy admitted she hated the way Brooke disrespected Ridge. Now that her mom was back, Steffy asked if Ridge ever imagined what his life would be like if he were still with Taylor.

At Brooke’s place, she talked to Katie Logan (Heather Tom) about Taylor’s return being bad timing. Katie knew there was a lot of tension in Brooke’s marriage right now, but she understood Taylor’s desire to see her kids and grandkids.

Brooke understood that as well, but she remained concerned about the timing and felt she should perhaps try to see Ridge’s perspective a bit more. Katie said it couldn’t hurt, especially now that Taylor was back in town.

While Taylor was looking through some old photos, Brooke showed up to see her at the cliff house. Taylor didn’t see why Brooke was surprised by her return to Los Angeles since her family lived there.

Taylor mentioned how she’d been working around the clock before this return trip, so that led to Brook fishing for info about Taylor’s love life.

Brooke was curious if Taylor was dating, but Taylor insisted she didn’t need a man to define her.

That left Brooke offended since it sounded rather judgmental. However, Taylor felt like Brooke was someone who didn’t enjoy being alone.

Brooke said Taylor should speak for herself, so Taylor explained that she found happiness and fulfillment on her own – though she’d always need her family with Ridge.

Talk turned to Steffy settling down with Finn and the only downside being Sheila as his birth mother.

Even so, Brooke thought it was good that Steffy had moved on from Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) and was happy with Finn.

Taylor reflected on Brooke ending up with Ridge while Hope Spencer (Annika Noelle) ended up with Liam.

“Hope’s a real winner, Brooke. Just like you,” Taylor said. Brooke countered that she didn’t like to look at it as a game of winners and losers. She believed they all created their own destiny and insisted she was trying to extend an olive branch, even if it didn’t seem like it.

Brooke warned Taylor that they shouldn’t fall back into old patterns. She asked if it was possible after all these years of being at each other’s throats to finally be friends.

The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers say Taylor and Brooke still have some battles ahead of them, so stay tuned.
