The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers update for Wednesday, March 17, teases that Hope Spencer (Annika Noelle) will try to figure out exactly what’s going on in Liam Spencer’s (Scott Clifton) head.
Liam struggled to believe the truth about the paternity test tampering scheme, which Vinny Walker (Joe LoCicero) decided to carry out for Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson).
It was a lot for Liam to process, but now he’s finally acknowledged that this isn’t his baby – it’s John “Finn” Finnegan’s (Tanner Novlan). Liam’s realization of that left him looking a bit unsettled, so Hope will want to know what he’s thinking.
There’s no rulebook on how to handle a crazy situation like this, so Hope may suggest a judgment-free zone where they can discuss their feelings openly.
Hope will certainly have some things she wants to get off her chest as well, but first she’ll want to know Liam’s thoughts on not having another child with Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood).
For better or worse, this is a big change. Liam was fully expecting to raise a second kid with Steffy just a few minutes ago, but now he’s accepted that Finn will be the one who’s a dad to this child.
Although this is a positive turn of events for Steffy’s relationship as well as Liam’s marriage, it’s only natural for Liam to battle a certain level of sadness here.
Liam’s been beating himself up about getting Steffy pregnant, but he had to be thinking about the future in the midst of it all. Everyone involved has agreed the child is a blessing, but now that blessing is going to Finn.
It’ll be a huge shift for Liam to wrap his head around. Wishing for a different paternity outcome and actually getting that paternity outcome are very different things.
The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers say Hope will deliver a question that’s tough for Liam to answer. That definitely lines up with Hope asking if Liam feels let down by the paternity truth.
There’ll be some concerns on Hope’s part about Liam yearning for a bigger family with Steffy. It would’ve given Liam another permanent bond to Steffy, so Hope will want to know if Liam’s sorry that link is gone.
Of course, Liam and Steffy will forever be connected through Kelly Spencer (Avalon and Collette Gray). As for this second baby that’s actually Finn’s, Liam may confess that his feelings are complicated. It’s best for Hope and Liam to communicate honestly, so Liam will need to confide his real thoughts on the matter – and get Hope’s true thoughts, too.
Hope will inevitably see the disappointment in Liam’s eyes and perhaps get a confession on that. However, Liam will reiterate that Hope is the woman he wants – and it’s their united family he wants, too.
There’ll be no doubt in Liam’s mind about this being a good thing in the long run, despite those complicated feelings.
The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers say Liam will think this could set up another opportunity to move forward. Liam will count on it to be easier without a baby to remind Hope of his one-night stand with Steffy.
Nevertheless, it won’t be that simple for Hope, who’ll have her own complex feelings when it comes to this paternity bombshell. Hope just won’t be as overjoyed as she thought she’d be in the end.
Once the initial burst of happiness wears off, the reality of Liam still being a cheater will set in.
While Liam and Hope debate the situation, Thomas will provide updates on all the drama at the hospital lab. After Thomas recaps how Vinny changed the test and came clean eventually, Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) will find his son’s actions impressive.
From where Ridge is standing, Thomas will have made real progress when it comes to doing right by Hope.
Brooke Forrester (Katherine Kelly Lang) may fear that Thomas put Vinny up to tampering with the test. Then again, Brooke might jump to the wrong conclusion about some elaborate plot that allowed Thomas to be Hope’s hero.
After Thomas spills his story and offers more reassurance about his lack of participation, Brooke and Ridge will gain a better understanding of what he did.
It seems even Brooke will be quite thankful that Thomas came through for Hope and potentially saved her marriage. Thrilled Ridge will think Thomas deserves a pat on the back for making Steffy’s future with Finn bright once again.
