The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers recap for Wednesday, March 17, reveals that Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) admired her engagement ring and wondered what would’ve happened if John “Finn” Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) hadn’t arrived in time.
Finn insisted he would’ve gone after Steffy at the airport – and if he missed her there, he would’ve caught up with Steffy in Paris. Steffy felt like it was a miracle since she’s engaged to Finn and having his baby. She didn’t know if she’d ever stop smiling.
Finn wanted to know if Steffy needed help unpacking her suitcases – though he suggested maybe she should just leave them packed and jet off to Paris with Kelly Spencer (Avalon and Collette Gray) for a few days.
Finn said he could give Steffy a Paris proposal, but she was perfectly content with the one she just got. Steffy didn’t think it could get any more romantic than what Finn did out by the cliff. Steffy felt like the luckiest woman in the world!
Although Steffy worried about what might’ve happened if Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) hadn’t figured out the truth, Finn felt like there was no need to think about that. They know this baby is theirs now and that’s all that matters.
Finn casually slipped in something about “Little Charlotte” or “Little James,” so Steffy teased him about already thinking about baby names. Steffy was thinking John Finnegan, Jr. for a boy, but Finn said they had plenty of time to mull it over.
At the cabin, Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) wondered if Hope Spencer (Annika Noelle) was sure this wasn’t some sick game. Hope insisted that Vinny Walker (Joe LoCicero) confessed, but Liam pointed out that Vinny was still Thomas’ BFF.
Hope noted that hospitals have all these safeguards to protect people from things like this. She felt like Vinny must’ve been awfully determined. “I could kill him,” Liam said – and Hope looked rather unsettled by the comment.
Liam finally accepted that he wasn’t the dad and that Finn was. Hope asked if Liam needed time alone, but he argued that what he needed to know was how Vinny got away with this.
Hope insisted that Vinny didn’t thanks to Thomas. She wanted to know how Liam was feeling now that he knew he wasn’t the father of Steffy’s baby.
Hope assured Liam that she wouldn’t blame him for being disappointed. Liam shifted to Hope’s feelings instead and assumed she must be relieved. Although Hope admitted that was true, she promised she could also be empathetic to Liam.
Hope guessed Liam must be feeling hurt, shocked and angry – so Liam admitted he was all of those things.
Liam did feel like something had been taken away from him, but he admitted this was great news for Finn and Steffy. Liam knew that the child would be loved and cared for.
At Forrester Creations on Wednesday’s Bold and the Beautiful episode, Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) left a message for Lt. Bradley Baker (Dan Martin) at the police station. Ridge wanted Vinny found and thrown in a hole! Thomas insisted that the hospital would be doing a full investigation.
Ridge praised Thomas and felt they all owed him a big “thank you” for getting the truth out. Brooke Forrester (Katherine Kelly Lang) felt the reason this happened was especially shocking. She brought up the fact that Vinny tampered with the results because he wanted Thomas to be with Hope.
Brooke seemed uneasy, so Ridge called her out for not seeming all that happy for Steffy and Finn. Brooke countered that she was happy for them, but she was mainly focused on Hope and the impact the updates would have on her daughter.
Thomas admitted that he’d already been over to see Hope, so she knows about the baby’s true father.
“You went to Hope…you took it upon yourself to go tell my daughter?” Brooke asked. Although Brooke was irritated about that part, she acknowledged that the paternity truth could really help Hope and Liam’s marriage. Thomas said that’s why he told Hope immediately and left when Liam showed up.
Brooke suggested that was selfless considering Thomas’ own feelings for Hope – and Ridge piped up about how proud he was. Thomas promised all he wants is Hope’s happiness and that’s it.
Back at the cabin on Wednesday’s B&B episode, Liam once again talked about how sorry he was and how he failed Hope. He didn’t know if he had the right to ask Hope to hold onto this marriage, but he knew Hope was hoping to find a way toward.
Liam took this paternity twist as a chance to move past that awful night. He asked Hope if they could turn the page and heal as a family, but Hope didn’t look so sure.
At the cliff house, Steffy and Finn shared organic grape juice boxes instead of Champagne. It’s the best Steffy could do considering she wasn’t expecting to get proposed to today.
Steffy appreciated the way Finn had been willing to stand by her, even when he thought he wasn’t the father. Now Steffy was so excited for her future with Finn and their family.
