The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) could be making yet another massive mistake. Y&R already feels at fault when it comes to Chelsea’s condition, which seems bleak at the moment. Chelsea can barely move due to the stroke she endured and has to communicate by blinking, so her recovery is sure to be a tough fight.
Chelsea looks depressed and miserable, so it’s somewhat understandable that Adam wants her to be home where she’s comfortable. However, Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) doesn’t agree with Adam rushing Chelsea back to the penthouse.
It’s not about having the proper setup and staff, which Adam obviously has. It’s about Chelsea’s location.
The fact is Chelsea would be better off at the hospital in case something goes wrong in these early stages of her recovery. Chelsea could head to the operating room immediately for another emergency surgery if need be. She’d be mere minutes away from the OR.
It’d take far longer to get the paramedics over to the penthouse to retrieve Chelsea and despite their considerable skills they are no match for the treatment available in a hospital.
In the December 6 episode, Nate warns Adam that taking Chelsea home right now could mean the difference between life and death. This is serious business! How’s Adam going to feel if Chelsea faces a setback and indeed has to be rushed back to the hospital? What if Chelsea really does need another emergency surgery?
The delay could cost Chelsea’s doctors valuable time just as Nate predicted. Nate is portrayed as a great physician who really knows his stuff. Y&R fans should probably trust Nate’s judgment on this – especially over Adam’s.
Adam has probably the worst judgment of anyone on The Young and the Restless and often comes to regret the decisions he makes.
Will Adam come to regret this one, too? If Chelsea’s condition rapidly declines and she’s not at the hospital where she needs to be, it could sink Adam even further into despair. It’s the kind of thing that could convince Adam that everyone’s right – that he only causes pain and destruction.
