The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) may get arrested and hauled off in handcuffs. Will Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuo) help trick Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) as part of Billy’s plan?
Now that Victoria Newman-Locke (Amelia Heinle) is privy to what Billy’s up to, she’s eager to use it to her advantage.
Victoria wants to take over Newman Media, so she’ll be motivated to help Billy on his path to duping Adam.
In Y&R’s December 29 episode, Victoria calls Billy after a chat with Adam and insists his act is barely registering.
Victoria warns Billy to up his game, so that’s exactly what Billy’s going to do in the coming episodes.
It’s not enough to just pretend to drink and gamble in public.
Adam has seen Billy spiral out of control like this before, so it’s not that big of a deal that Billy’s slurring his words and falling on his face in Society. Billy’s dive bar poker games don’t matter much to Adam either.
In other words, Billy can make a public spectacle of himself all he wants, but that probably won’t convince Adam and Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) to run a story.
Since Billy has to raise the stakes, how might he do that? Perhaps Billy could rely on Rey for help with the next step.
Back when Adam accused Billy of blackmailing him, Rey ultimately revealed that the DA declined to pursue the case.
Rey admitted he hoped he never had to slap the cuffs on Billy ever again, which could’ve been a hint that the detective would indeed make another arrest.
Could Billy start a fake fight with one of his pals at The Empty Glass?
There’s the potential for Rey to take Billy into custody while disguised Sally captures the whole thing on video.
Whether Rey’s in on the plot or not, he could become a key player in the next phase to fool Adam.
Of course, the charges could eventually be dropped and brushed under the rug.
Billy just needs something to give Adam and Victor a nudge when it comes to publishing a story about how out of control he is.
Even an arrest based on charges that don’t stick could help with that.
