The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that a Chance Chancellor recast may come home too late – leaving him in danger of losing his family with Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor and Dominic Newman-Abbott-Chancellor.
In some ways, Chance blew it from the get-go by even accepting this mission. It wasn’t fair for Chance to just say yes and take off without talking to Abby about this first.
Not only were Chance and Abby newlyweds, but they were also planning to start their family together.
Chance missed out on all the baby prep – and then Abby had to deal with all the drama of Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) and unborn Dominic’s kidnapping without chance by her side.
Chance missed the birth and is now missing Dominic’s first special milestones as well.
It’s clear that Chance really should’ve just let someone else play hero on this particular assignment.
Of course, there’s a good reason why this story happened since Y&R obviously wanted to write Donny Boaz’s Chance out in a hurry. No matter the show’s motive for that, they needed an urgent excuse that’d take Chance off canvas immediately.
Now the latest buzz hints that a Chance recast should hit town before the end of the year. Insiders suggest that Chance will resurface – hopefully not too long after Noah Newman (Rory Gibson) returns this fall.
The show apparently worked hard to find two new leading men for these recast roles, so their debuts are just around the corner.
Naturally, it’s possible fans will see Chance in captivity at first. There’s always the potential for Chance’s mission to take an unexpected turn that keeps him away even longer.
We know Abby will face a shocker this autumn that rocks her world, so she may learn Chance has gone MIA from his mission or even come to believe he’s dead.
However, it’s also possible Chance will simply surprise Abby with his return and find that things aren’t the same in their marriage.
That’s especially true if Abby and Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) can’t fight the baby pull that’s already inching them together.
Chance could face a divorce and may have a hard time fighting Chelsea and Devon for any baby rights under the circumstances.
It looks like Chance and Abby’s relationship could end up in jeopardy, so don’t miss what’s ahead. We’ll pass along updates as other Y&R news rolls in.
