The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Chance Chancellor (last played by Donny Boaz) may return to save Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) and the baby. This could be an opportunity for a Chance recast’s heroic rescue and snatcher Ben “Stitch” Rayburn’s (Sean Carrigan) takedown.
Mariah is missing as of the July 8 episode of Y&R, so concerns about her whereabouts are only going to get worse as time goes on.
Stitch will be involved in helping Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) and Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) – perhaps as one of the last people to interact with Mariah.
Of course, Stitch may be far more involved than he’s letting on. He’s been acting creepy and stalking outside the Chancellor mansion when no one’s watching.
Stitch also seems to have developed a fixation on the unborn child Mariah’s carrying, which is the baby of Stitch’s former flame.
Stitch lost a baby with Abby and might be keen on stealing another one if his mental state is that fractured.
It’s possible there’ll be a twist that offers another explanation, but we can’t ignore Stitch’s disturbing behavior and the overall changes we’ve seen since he resurfaced.
With all that in mind, this might be the ideal return arc for Chance.
All signs point to the show recasting and bringing a new Chance into the mix in the months ahead. Chance is a hero at his core – and that’ll certainly be the case when it comes to fighting for his own son’s safety.
Maybe Chance will finally wrap up his mission and kick off a new one after realizing Mariah’s in trouble.
Chance might save Mariah as well as his newborn son once the baby comes into the world. It’d be awfully sweet for Chance to put the baby in Abby’s arms when this is all over.
That’d be a great way to get the audience accepting the new Chance right off the bat.
Chance has a lot to make up for since he took such a lengthy assignment without even saying a proper goodbye, so the recast will need a good story to kick things off.
This could get fans back on his side and have us rooting for a Chance recast from the get-go!
Whatever the case, Mariah and the baby will need a hero! Will that hero be Chance? We’ll keep you posted as other Y&R news and updates emerge.
