The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Monday, August 30 Recap – Chelsea Warns Adam About Sally - Mariah Wants Bowie

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Monday, August 30, reveals that Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) will find herself feeling sad over Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) and the baby bonding. As for Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan), she won’t trust Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) and will be hesitant to even take the job Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) offered.

At the hospital on Monday’s Y&R episode, Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) will assure Mariah, Abby and Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) that everything seems normal. The baby will just need to get a bath and some testing in the nursery.

Mariah will rant about being snatched up off the street by a nameless, faceless monster. She’ll admit she was worried that she wouldn’t be of use anymore after the baby was born.

Mariah will be appalled over it being Ben “Stitch” Rayburn (Sean Carrigan) all along. She’ll gripe about a doctor letting her think she was going to die and then allowing her to go into labor alone.

After Mariah learns Stitch planned to play the hero, she’ll want him locked up forever for what he did to her – and for what could’ve happened to Bowie.

Mariah will beg Devon to tell her Stitch isn’t going to get away with this, so Devon will assure her that the police are on top of it.

Outside Mariah’s hospital room, Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) will get off a call about the search for Stitch and will relay some updates to Victor Newman (Eric Braeden).

Rey will admit that Stitch was at the house mere minutes before he got there, but now there’s no sign of him.

Since Mariah will only be allowed two visitors at a time, Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) will urge Devon and Abby to step out.

Moments later, Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) will rush in and embrace Mariah. Sharon will also appear and will insist she’s so glad Mariah’s safe.

After Sharon gives Mariah and Tessa some private time, they’ll talk about feeling their connection while they were apart.

Tessa will tearfully tell Mariah she’s never letting her go again. Later, Mariah will drift off to sleep, so Tessa will ask Sharon to stay with her while she goes home to get a few things for her.

In the waiting area, Devon will thank Nate for his video call coaching during the delivery. He’ll also talk about the birth being a miracle and will explain that he felt an instant connection to the baby.

All of this will leave Devon reflecting on Hilary Curtis Hamilton (Mishael Morgan) and the baby they lost.

Once Nate takes a break with Elena at Crimson Lights, he’ll admit the birth had a profound effect on Devon.

Nate will think Devon feels connected to the baby in a way he wasn’t expecting, so Elena will get this is about what happened with Hilary.

After Nate talks about Devon’s new meaningful bond, he’ll think this kid is lucky to have Devon in his life from the start.

At The Grand Phoenix, Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will urge Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) to put Sally’s agenda aside for a moment.

Nick will want Phyllis to be honest and will ask if she’d be tempted to reunite with Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) if he weren’t in the picture.

Phyllis won’t see the point of asking this since Nick’s indeed in the picture and is the guy she wants.

Nick will urge Phyllis to humor him anyway, so she’ll claim she shares a bond with Jack as a friend and that’s it.

Phyllis will add that she’s a “one-man woman” and will act like Nick has nothing to worry about.

Victor will call Nick to fill him in on the birth of Abby’s baby and will mention that Mariah resting comfortably, too.

Afterward, Victor will give Abby a stuffed bear as a gift for his new grandson. He’ll want to visit the baby later, but he’ll know there’s a lot going on right now.

Next, Abby will credit Devon with saving the baby’s life. She’ll contend that she was too blinded by Stitch’s kindness, but Devon trusted his instincts.

However, Devon won’t think there’s any need for Abby to feel guilty. He’ll make it clear that it was a team effort and will be glad everything worked out.

When Tessa appears, she’ll offer her gratitude and will get directions to the chapel so she can say a prayer of thanks.

Devon will mention needing to call Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) and will wish Neil Winters (Kristoff St. John) could’ve been around for this, but Abby will think Neil’s indeed smiling down.

Later, Abby will sit by Mariah’s bedside. She’ll be upset that there’s no way to let Chance Chancellor (last played by Donny Boaz) know he’s a dad and will wish he was there with her.

When Elena brings the hungry baby in, Abby will guess they should supplement with formula for now since sleeping Mariah will be unavailable to pump.

After Elena hands Abby the baby and a bottle, she’ll urge her to enjoy since the first feeding only happens once. Devon will watch and listen as Abby tells her son she’s waited her whole life for him.

“Mommy’s here…Mommy’s got you,” Abby will insist – just in time for Mariah to turn over and look glum over Abby bonding with Bowie.

At Society, Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) will let Sally meet Chelsea via video chat, so Sally will turn on the charm and try to flatter her.

Chelsea won’t seem that impressed and will surprise Chloe by suggesting she’s not even sure she’ll take the position at Newman Media. At this point, Chelsea just won’t be able to commit.

Chelsea will also make a video call to Adam, so that’ll give her a chance to bring up Sally’s track record. After Chelsea recaps Sally’s shady history, she’ll mention that she talked to Sally for less than a minute and could tell she was a master manipulator.

Chelsea will think Sally has a total lack of scruples and will push Adam to give the schemer a second look.

Back at Society, Phyllis will find Sally and warn her to stay away from her man! Sally will taunt Phyllis about fawning all over Jack and will mention that she has no issues with Adam.

Phyllis will scoff over Sally’s suggestion that they “get each other” and will think karma’s coming for Sally. She’ll also insist that Sally should stay out of her orbit or else her stay in GC will come to an abrupt end.

After Adam spots Nick at the coffeehouse, they’ll discuss the news of Abby’s baby as well as their mutual distrust of Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi).

When Sally pops up, Nick will quickly head out – leading Adam to point out that Nick doesn’t like Sally very much.

Sally will contend that she can turn that around and will drop a hint about a mysterious plan to make a name for herself.

Once Chloe comes in, Adam will mention the official Newman Media launch that’s happening tomorrow and will head back to the office.

Sally will tell Chloe that Chelsea doesn’t seem on board with her as a new hire, but Chloe will think Chelsea’s going to come around. She’ll refuse to let Chelsea say anything but yes to working together.

Chloe will get on another video call with Chelsea and sing Sally’s praises, but Chelsea still won’t seem sold.

As for Chelsea’s own role with the fashion platform, Chloe will argue that time is running out. She’ll be afraid that they’ll have to move on without Chelsea if she doesn’t join them soon.

Finally, Sally will saunter in Adam’s office to show him something on her tablet that’s perfect for the launch. Adam will praise Sally’s talent and fish to find out about the plan she mentioned earlier.

Since Adam will be determined to pry it out of Sally, he’ll wonder if she’d like to accompany him to the launch party.

“We’ll see,” Sally will say before waltzing out and leaving Adam deep in thought.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Sally will indeed end up attending this bash with Adam, so that decision will bring some shockers!
