The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) will fight to prove Chelsea Lawson’s (Melissa Claire Egan) mental breakdown was fake and make his attempted murderer pay in prison.
Rey initially seemed fooled by Chelsea’s downward spiral, which was a carefully orchestrated part of Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) scheme.
However, it didn’t take long for Rey to decide all of this was a bit too convenient. Victor feels like he’s come up with an “everybody wins” situation where Chelsea can pretend to get the appropriate care at a psychiatric hospital.
Meanwhile, Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) can enjoy his freedom and get on with his life. Adam is innocent and will remain free no matter what, but Chelsea’s fate isn’t certain just yet.
Victor has given Chelsea his word that she can feign her recovery at this mental health facility and get the fresh start she desires. Nevertheless, we all know Victor doesn’t really care about Chelsea and her new beginning.
If Victor has to break his promise, it’s probably not going to be a big deal to him all things considered.
Y&R fans know Chelsea tried to frame Adam for poisoning Rey and happily would’ve watched him go down for it. Why should Victor mind if Chelsea ends up paying after all?
Regardless, Rey will work multiple angles as he tries to prove Chelsea is perfectly sane and capable of standing trial.
Since Rey already suspects Chloe was Chelsea’s accomplice, that’ll be one strategy for him to pursue. Chloe will confess to Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart), who’ll do his best to help Chloe hide the truth from Rey and keep their family together.
Even so, The Young and the Restless spoilers say Chloe will feel the pressure rising. Rey will hope he can convince Chloe to turn against Chelsea and sell out her bestie to save herself.
Chloe will find herself with a difficult decision to make, so we’ll see what choice she settles on.
As for Chelsea, she’ll get a visit from Rey now that she’s settled in her new facility. Chelsea will have to put her con artist skills to good use again and try to make Rey believe she truly lost it.
Chelsea will want Rey to accept that her post-stroke psychosis was real, but Rey will keep trying to poke holes in this scam.
Will Rey be able to get enough evidence that Chelsea actually belongs in prison? Will Rey ultimately have to let this go instead? As other news and updates emerge, we’ll keep you posted.
