The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Thursday, October 28 Recap – Ashland’s Peruvian Treatment – Sharon’s Grim Prediction

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Thursday, October 28, reveals that Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi) will learn a Peruvian experimental treatment could be his last resort – and Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) will make a grim prediction about Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) and Phyllis Summers’ (Michelle Stafford) relationship.

At Newman Enterprises on Thursday’s Y&R episode, Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) will arrive to give Ashland a second opinion.

After looking at Ashland’s latest test results, he’ll see that the chemo hasn’t been working like they hoped it would.

Ashland won’t think it’s worth continuing with the current protocol – and Victoria Newman-Locke (Amelia Heinle) will pipe up about alternative experimental treatments.

Victoria will mention one in Peru that seems promising and hope they can get Nate’s take on all this.

Since Ashland won’t be happy with his current doctor, Nate will suggest it’s always good to get a second and even third opinion.

Nate will promise to look into the Peruvian treatment email details and get back to Ashland soon. After Nate steps outside Victoria’s office, he’ll pause and look concerned.

Back in Victoria’s office, Ashland will note that Nate didn’t seem very enthusiastic. He’ll worry that maybe he’s fighting a battle he can’t win and will confess he’s scared.

Victoria will maintain that they’re in this together and will feel they’ve come too far to give up on their future.

Ashland will appreciate the way Victoria believes in him and will decide she’s right about trying to stay positive.

Victoria won’t care about the honeymoon if Ashland has to jump right into a new treatment. She’ll refuse to let anything stand in the way of Ashland getting better.

While Noah Newman (Rory Gibson) is catching up with Sharon at Crimson Lights, Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) will arrive feeling sluggish due to the night shift and jet lag. After Elena gets her coffee to-go, she’ll dash off to tackle a few errands.

After Sharon reveals that Elena lives in the apartment above the coffeehouse, Noah will admit he assumed she lived with Nate.

Noah will get that some couples like the distance of having their own places, so Sharon will wonder if that’s a general observation or relates to what went down in London.

Noah will claim it’s just a thought, but Sharon will still wonder how worried she should be about her son. It’ll take some convincing, but Noah will finally admit he got his heart broken – though he’ll insist he really was feeling stuck in a rut, too.

Noah will feel like coming home to Genoa City is exactly what he needs right now.

As for Nick, he’ll walk in Phyllis’ suite and see the aftermath of the romantic dinner she ordered the night before.

Phyllis will give Nick a hard time about blowing her off via text and will insist she can’t talk now. She’ll claim she’s busy and hungover before heading downstairs, where Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) will offer to lend an ear.

When Nick comes down and realizes Phyllis is about to have coffee with Jack, he’ll be annoyed since she was previously too busy to discuss their relationship.

Phyllis will argue that she thought Jack could bring her down a notch. She’ll insist she needed space to avoid saying the wrong thing to Nick, so he’ll understand what she means.

Nick will promise there’s nothing to be scared of before he takes off to give Phyllis the space she pushed for.

Once Nick is gone, Phyllis will tell Jack that she’s in a bigger mess than she was before. She’ll ask if they can get out of there, so Jack will happily accompany her to the park.

Phyllis will vent to Jack about her issues with Nick, but she won’t even be entirely sure what they are. She’ll just know she doesn’t live in denial and won’t be OK with the problems in her relationship.

Phyllis won’t know what’s happening, but she’ll tell Jack that none of it is right.

Back at Crimson Lights, Nick will join Sharon and Noah at a table. After Nick addresses the family drama, he’ll admit things keep getting increasingly tense with Phyllis.

Nick will talk about how unsettling it is since they seemed so solid before.

Noah will get what it’s like to think everything is OK before suddenly realizing it’s not. He’ll confess to experiencing something similar recently and that being part of the reason he decided to come back home.

Noah will think Phyllis and Nick can get through these rough waters, but Nick will notice Sharon seems awfully quiet. Sharon will shrug and wonder what Nick expects her to say.

Sharon will act like she’s not the best person to weigh in since she’s biased when it comes to Nick and Phyllis’ relationship.

Nick will acknowledge that Victoria is usually the person he turns to in situations like this. Since Nick’s been having issues with both Victoria and Phyllis, he’ll suggest he’s really starting to wonder if he’s the problem.

Noah won’t think that’s entirely true and will offer encouragement, but Nick will still worry history could repeat itself with Phyllis. He’ll feel like Phyllis is pulling away, but he’ll resolve to make her see that what they have is worth fighting for.

Once alone with Noah, Sharon will confess that she’ll never believe Phyllis is what’s best for Nick. She’ll think Phyllis and Nick’s relationship seems ready to fall off a cliff. “It’s only a question of when,” Sharon will add.

At the park again, Jack will mention how Phyllis cut ties with her own father.

Jack will speculate that maybe Phyllis is holding Nick’s decision against him since he didn’t make the same choice with Victor Newman (Eric Braeden). An offended Phyllis will ask if Jack’s saying she’s responsible for this.

Jack will promise that’s not the case, but he’ll acknowledge that Phyllis tends to look for an exit strategy when her back is against the wall. Phyllis will wonder if Jack’s saying she’s her own worst enemy, so Jack will admit he’d hate to see her become a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Jack will feel like there’s a reason Nick and Phyllis keep coming back together, but Phyllis will think there’s also a reason that things don’t work out.

Later, Phyllis will find Nick waiting for her back in their suite. Nick will thank Phyllis for coming as she looks at the silver-domed dishes he’s ordered.

At Society, Nate will run into Elena and mention Ashland’s desire for him to look into an experimental treatment. Nate will fret over being personally invested since he might have to give Ashland and Victoria news they don’t want to hear.

Elena will assure Nate that they came to him because he could give it to them straight. She won’t think Nate has to worry about performing any miracles.

On the Crimson Lights patio, Nate will sigh over the email about the experimental treatment info. He’ll be put on speakerphone when he calls Ashland and Victoria, who’ll get some disappointing updates.

Nate will acknowledge that there’s been some promising research, but he’ll still feel like it’s a last resort and that the chances of improvement remain slim. Ashland will know it’s a long shot, but he’ll be willing to try anything.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Ashland will fight hard to get as much time with Victoria as possible, so stay tuned.
