The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Tuesday, August 31 Recap – Stitch Snatches Max – Abby Names Baby Dominic - Ashland's Chemo

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Tuesday, August 31, reveals that Ben “Stitch” Rayburn (Sean Carrigan) snatched Max Rayburn (Jared Breeze) using a doctor’s ID and will remain on the run. Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) will also name the baby “Dominic” and will have a special reason why, so here’s what Y&R viewers can look forward to.

At the penthouse, Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) will insist that Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) is a hero and will imply that he’s also a father now.

Devon will shut down that idea and insist that Chance Chancellor (last played by Donny Boaz) is the baby’s one and only father, but Amanda won’t think it’s that cut and dry.

After Devon talks about his indescribable connection with the baby, he’ll argue that he’s just happy Abby finally has her child.

Meanwhile, Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) will wake up startled after a nightmare and will demand to know where the baby is.

Abby will assure Mariah that he’s a perfect angel in the nursery, so Mariah will calm down once she knows he’s safe.

Although Abby will blame herself for opening the door to Stitch, Mariah will insist Stitch himself is the only one to blame.

Abby will mention how the protein bar story didn’t sit right with Devon, so that led to Stitch’s exposure and Mariah’s rescue.

Mariah will struggle to understand how they could initially believe she’d just leave town – especially without telling Tessa goodbye.

Abby will contend that they were trying to respect what they thought were Mariah’s feelings, but it was just Stitch manipulating them through texts.

Since Mariah will keep referring to the baby as Bowie, Abby will finally bring it up. Mariah will admit she needed something to call him since “kiddo” and “little man” weren’t cutting it anymore.

Mariah will insist she wasn’t trying to name the baby, so Abby will understand. Mariah will assure Abby that she talked a lot to Bowie and let him know that his mom already loved him.

After Abby wheels Mariah to see the baby sleeping in the nursery, they’ll return to Mariah’s room.

Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) will be waiting there with Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) and will have some updates on Stitch.

Once Stitch fled Genoa City, he headed for Max’s facility in Iowa and stole a doctor’s ID. That allowed Stitch to grab Max in the middle of the night and run with his son.

Abby will wish Stitch had just come to her if he needed help. She’ll think things are going to be worse for Stitch and Max now, but Mariah won’t get why Abby cares what happens to Stitch at all.

Abby will argue that it’s a terrible situation that makes her angry, but it’ll also make her a little sad. Mariah, on the other hand, will have no sympathy for Stitch and will want him behind bars where he belongs.

Once Tessa arrives later, she’ll hear about Mariah’s nightmare and reassure her that she’s safe now.

Abby will return with the birth certificate she’s filling out soon after. She’ll reveal that she was up all night and came up with a name for the baby: Dominic Phillip Newman-Abbott-Chancellor.

Abby will explain that there’s a D for Devon as well as an M for Mariah since she wanted to honor them in some way.

Mariah will smile sadly and make a confession to Tessa once they’re alone. The baby was Mariah’s reason for living in captivity and now Mariah won’t be sure how to let go.

Mariah will cry in Tessa’s arms, but Tessa will insist Dominic is going to have a great life because of Mariah – who’ll still be part of that life.

The pep talk will help somewhat, but Mariah will still seem a bit somber.

Back with Abby, she’ll fill Devon in on her name choice. Devon will like the name Dominic and will look forward to Abby bringing him home from the hospital soon.

At Society, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) will approach Nick Newman’s (Joshua Morrow) table while Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) is off taking a call.

Billy will mention the story of Ashland Locke’s (Richard Burgi) older woman mentor and the two news stations Ashland acquired to start building his empire.

When Nick doesn’t seem to have much of a reaction, Billy will wonder if he already knew this information.

Nick will simply insist that he’d need a good reason to get involved in Victoria Newman’s (Amelia Heinle) personal life. He’ll suggest if Billy comes up with one, then let him know.

Once Billy leaves and Victor returns to the table, Nick will fill his dad in on their conversation.

Victor will learn that Billy is on the same trail, but Nick really won’t think this is about leverage. Nevertheless, Victor will think protecting themselves has to be their new creed.

At ChancComm, Victoria will corner Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) and wonder how she can stand by and watch Billy use the company for his own agenda.

Lily will deny doing that, but Victoria will rant about Billy digging into Ashland’s past. She won’t see why they should drag a sick and dying man through the mud.

Victoria will get that Billy’s concerned about the kids, but she’ll mostly think this is about her.

Lily will suspect Victoria’s trying to get under her skin, but Victoria will argue that Lily’s changed and not necessarily for the better if she’s rationalizing this.

Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) will show up right before Victoria leaves in a huff. It won’t be long until Lily offers Elena the Ask MD Now job that Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) is leaving behind.

Elena will feel a bit blindsided since Nate recommended her without mentioning it. Lily will insist the job is Elena’s if she wants it and will urge her to think about it.

At Crimson Lights, Elena will meet up with Nate and bring up the job opportunity from Lily.

Nate will try to sell Elena on why she’s perfect for the gig, so Elena will smile and tease him about being a charmer.

Once Elena’s gone, Nate will notice Ashland struggling to steady himself nearby and will offer to help.

After Nate takes Ashland home, Ashland will insist he’d appreciate discretion on this.

Nate will understand and will offer some vitamin supplements to help handle the chemo.

Nate will also give Ashland a nudge toward being honest with his doctors and Victoria since chemo can be tough.

When Victoria comes home, Ashland will initially lie that his latest chemo treatment was fine and that he got home on his own.

Moments later, Ashland will decide Victoria deserves the truth. He’ll explain that the treatment was brutal and that Nate had to come to his rescue after he almost collapsed. For the first time, Ashland will admit he might not be able to handle this.

Back at ChancComm, Lily will tell Billy that Victoria came by to insist she’s a sell-out who lets Billy do whatever he wants around there.

Billy will be apologetic, but Lily will just worry that he might be doing irreparable damage to his relationship with the mother of his children.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Billy will keep searching for the whole truth anyway, so don’t miss what’s in store.
