The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers update for Tuesday, January 26, teases that Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) is ready to talk next baby steps with Chance Chancellor (Donny Boaz). Abby notes that they don’t have to make any decisions tonight, but she was really hoping they could.
At Society, Faith Newman (Alyvia Alyn Lind) seems irritated when Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) appears. After Faith excuses herself to see if Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle) is working, Phyllis admits Faith doesn’t seem to want her there. She presumes it’s because she ratted Faith out for drinking and shared her suspicions regarding Jordan (Madison Thompson).
On Tuesday’s Y&R episode, Nick suggests Faith isn’t too happy with him either. He feels bad for Faith since she’s been through a lot and just wants to help. Faith returns, so Nick clams up. Lola isn’t working, but Faith wants privacy for a video chat regarding a group project at school.
After Faith wraps up that video chat, Nick and Phyllis try to get Faith talking about various topics. Faith still seems standoffish. Moments later, Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) arrives to get takeout, so Nick asks her to join them instead.
It turns out Nikki and Victoria Newman’s (Amelia Heinle) flight to Hawaii was diverted back to Genoa City due to bad weather, so Nikki uses this chance to talk to Faith.
Faith clearly isn’t thrilled about it and doesn’t respond well to Nikki’s idea about going to the stables after dinner. Nikki suggests they could talk about anything and everything, but Faith insists her grandma doesn’t have to lie. She knows this is about warning her about the “evils of drinking.”
At The Grand Phoenix on Tuesday’s Young and the Restless episode, Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) tells Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) she doesn’t have time for dinner, but she can squeeze in drinks.
Amanda notes that she’ll have to leave soon after and pack for a trip. “So, our first official date is going to be out of town?” Devon asks.
Amanda laughs and insists she’s going with Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) to New York first thing in the morning. Since the Chancellor jet isn’t available, Devon offers up his private plane instead and talks Amanda into it.
Devon notes that he always has work to do in Manhattan, so he’d be happy to tag along. “You can’t deny that we’d have a hell of a time,” Devon suggests. Amanda smiles over Devon laying it on thick, but she can’t mix business with pleasure. Devon takes it as a compliment that he would distract Amanda.
At Chancellor Communications, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) coaches Katie Abbott (Sienna Mercuri) on how to putt and Lily cheers her own. There’s a fun vibe as Lily, Billy, Katie and Johnny Abbott (Holden and Ryan Hare) all do some bonding, but Victoria interrupts and makes things a bit uncomfortable.
After Victoria explains about the delayed flight, Billy says they were just about to take the kids for dinner. Katie and Johnny ask if Mommy can come, which seems to please Victoria. Lily and Billy? Not so much!
There’s plenty of debate, but the kids want pizza at home. Lily tells Billy to go ahead and just meet up with her for a nightcap after. Victoria grins over it being the perfect solution.
Back at the Chancellor mansion, Abby runs down her options with Chance. Adoption is the most common one, but there are so many choices within that option. Surrogacy is another one. Since Abby’s eggs are still viable, they would just need a gestational carrier. Abby can see pros and cons to both options, so Chance says he can appreciate her research.
However, Chance is more interested in knowing what Abby really wants. He feels they should go with their hearts just as much as their heads. Abby knows they have so much love to give a baby that needs a home, but she’d rather be part of the journey from the very beginning – from conception to birth.
Even if they found a birth mom looking to give up her child, she might be several months into the pregnancy.
Abby admits that the thought of someone else carrying her baby will take some getting used to, but surrogacy means the baby would be half hers and half Chance’s.
Since Abby really likes that idea, she thinks she wants to go with surrogacy – and Chance feels great about that plan. “And I really hope our baby has your eyes,” Chance insists.
Chance doesn’t need to sleep on it, so he decides with Abby that they’re doing this. Abby wishes they could find someone they know and trust to be a surrogate instead of using an agency. Chance knows it’s a lot to ask.
Abby’s first thought is someone in her family, but they can’t ask Victoria since she’s got her own personal history with pregnancy issues. Chance says they’ll keep thinking about it.
Abby and Chance acknowledge that there’s no one unique way to build a family. They’ll do it their way – and it’ll be “magical” according to Abby. After rehashing how they want someone they know and trust to carry this baby, Abby realizes she thinks she knows the perfect surrogate.
Back at Society, Faith sarcastically suggests what Nikki, Nick and Phyllis think she’s been up to is just the tip of the iceberg. “Strip poker, red cups, beer pong…” Faith says. She pretends she was confused about Long Island Iced Tea being actual iced tea and adds that they taste pretty good after you’ve had a few.
Nick argues that Faith made her point, but Faith thinks it’s what they all think of her. She’s so sick of everyone acting like she’s stupid and can’t be trusted – like she’s a lost cause. Faith eventually storms out, so they decide to give her some space.
Nikki admits that Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) filled her in on Faith’s drinking and promises they’re all in this together. Nick was hoping tonight would be normal and that Faith would get some reassurance, but he fears the opposite happened.
Phyllis spells out that maybe she’s to blame for tonight’s tension, so Nikki suggests Phyllis is making this all about her! However, Phyllis is just saying maybe she should talk to Faith and let her vent. Nikki argues that she should be the one to handle this.
Once Billy, Victoria and the kids are at Victoria’s place, they all talk about what kind of pizza to order. Johnny and Katie admit they like Lily since she’s “nice and funny,” which seems to irk Victoria.
Once the kids are watching a movie in the other room, Billy questions if Victoria was upset about him taking Katie and Johnny to the office.
Billy pushes it even further to find out if Victoria’s upset about the kids getting along with Lily. Victoria can sense that Billy’s trying to get a feel for whether she’s jealous of him moving on, but she insists she isn’t. Since Billy keeps asking Victoria so often, she wonders if maybe he’s the one questioning what he wants.
In The Grand Phoenix lobby again, Devon notes that this is the second time Amanda’s turned down a trip to New York with him. Amanda has a feeling they’ll get there someday. Devon feels like they’re seeing things the same way now, which is nice. They’ve had a lot of ups and downs in their relationship, but they’ve found their way to being friends – very good friends.
Devon’s excited to get to know Amanda even further and to see where this goes. He hopes he’s not being too forward, but Amanda insists he’s just being honest – and she likes honest. Amanda feels the same way. Devon points out that some people already think they’re a thing, though they haven’t had an official first date or even a first kiss.
That earns a big grin from Amanda, but she’s unsure about that step. Amanda thinks it might be weird for Devon to kiss someone who looks just like his ex-wife, Hilary Hamilton (Mishael Morgan). Devon says Amanda used to remind him of Hilary, but not anymore. He only thinks of Amanda when he looks at her.
Amanda and Devon have a flirty conversation about how much they’ve already learned about each other. They’re excited to learn even more. Devon decides this non-official first date was a good one as Amanda gets up to leave. He wonders if Amanda has changed her mind about the kiss, but she just says it’ll happen “soon.”
Amanda parts ways with Devon, who watches her across the lobby. On the elevator, Amanda gets a flirty text about how Devon wants to know when she’ll be back from New York. It’ll give Devon something to look forward to. Amanda texts back with a kissing face emoji and smiles again.
Meanwhile, Faith comes out of Society’s restroom and wipes away tears as she texts Jordan about her family driving her crazy. Nikki brings Faith her coat and coaxes her outside to get some fresh air.
Nick hopes Nikki can break through some of Faith’s walls, but he knows there are no magic words to make anything better. Nick thinks maybe he needs to stay on top of Faith more than ever along with Sharon, but Phyllis suggests a tight leash could make Faith rebel even more. It’s best to just proceed with caution.
Outside, Faith apologizes to Nikki, but she insists that’s unnecessary. Nikki gets that it’s difficult being young and misunderstood. It’s almost like people don’t see you for who you really are.
Faith feels like her parents are overreacting, but Nikki warns she wouldn’t go that far. Faith’s mistakes have been concerning and she does have a genetic predisposition for alcoholism.
“So…what? It’s my destiny?” Faith wonders. Nikki assures Faith that no one thinks of her as a lost cause. She can promise Faith that things will get better. Nikki reflects on being a handful when she was younger and talks about feeling judged by her sister.
All Nikki, Nick and Sharon want to do is love and protect Faith, not judge her.
Faith concedes that she knows, though it doesn’t always feel that way. She resolves to go back in the restaurant and deal with “Phick” alone. Faith apologizes to Nick for going off, so he admits he does need her to be more respectful and polite.
Nick insists Faith will always be his little girl, but she replies that’s just it – she’s not a little girl anymore. She needs to learn how to take care of herself. Faith feels she might mess up sometimes, but she promises she’ll figure it out. Faith patches things up with Phyllis as well, so the evening ends on a positive note.
At Victoria’s place again, Billy wants to answer her earlier question before he goes. Billy’s happy in his new life. He’s in a good place and isn’t questioning anything. It’s just important to Billy that he’s in a good place with Victoria, too.
Victoria agrees with that and insists it’s important for the four of them as a family. She looks pensive after Billy leaves. Next, Billy makes his way to The Grand Phoenix for a drink with Lily. They talk about how it’s complicated for Victoria seeing Billy with someone new – and the kids with someone new, too.
Billy thinks he’d feel the same way if Victoria was with someone else, but he’d try to be open-minded as long as he was a good guy. Billy feels Victoria’s trying to get to that same place, though it may take a little time.
We’ll provide updates as other Y&R news becomes available. The Young and the Restless spoilers say Victoria’s jealousy could cause more drama, so stay tuned. CDL’s your go-to source for sizzling Young and the Restless spoilers, news and updates!
