The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers preview for the week of August 16-20 teases that Gloria Fisher-Bardwell (Judith Chapman) will share big news while Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) grills Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) about Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes). Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) will also threaten Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope), so here’s what fans can expect.
First, let’s talk about Gloria and her meeting with Lauren Baldwin (Tracey E. Bregman) at Society. Lauren will wonder what it is they’re toasting to, so Gloria will insist they’re toasting to her.
Gloria will announce that it’s her last day as Lauren’s assistant, so does she have her eye on Sally’s old job or another intriguing way to make money? Regardless, Gloria will seem like she’s feeling large and in charge!
In the meantime, Rey will pay Adam a visit in his office at Newman Media. Adam will assume this is about Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan), but Rey will insist it’s about Mariah instead.
Rey will wonder about the last time Adam had contact with Mariah, so Adam will no doubt point out that they aren’t friends.
It sounds like Rey will suspect Adam might’ve had something to do with Mariah’s disappearance – perhaps so he could play the hero later. Rey might think Adam wanted to ride to the rescue again and impress Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case).
However, Adam gave up a kidney for Faith Newman (Reylynn Caster) and has been staying on a positive path ever since.
Adam may ask if Rey honestly believes he’d stoop as low as kidnapping Mariah, but Rey could remind Adam that he had Chelsea kidnapped once upon a time.
Rey might argue that he has to explore all options, but Adam may feel like this is just more of the same old grudge.
Adam might contend, correctly, that Rey’s wasting valuable time that could be spent on legitimate suspects.
Fortunately, Rey and the Newmans will end up fighting on the same side soon since Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) will offer his resources for the search. As for Victor’s wife, she’ll be busy trying to put some fear in Sally.
When Nikki crosses paths with Summer Newman’s (Hunter King) redheaded rival, she’ll deliver a fierce warning.
“Well, I am very protective about the people I love,” Nikki says to Sally in Y&R’s weekly preview video. “And make no mistake: My husband isn’t the only one who knows how to take matters into his own hands.”
Of course, Sally might mention that things worked out awfully well for Summer since she’s back together with Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and has her dream job.
Even so, Nikki will make it clear that Sally had better think twice before targeting Summer or anyone else in her family.
Finally, Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will have a surprise for Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford). He’ll suggest that for the next few hours, he’s going to deliver a tribute to all the things about Phyllis that make him crazy.
Nick will call it “Phyllis Appreciation Day,” so this is sure to lift Phyllis’ spirits as she struggles without Summer around.
