In tonight’s 9-1-1 Lone Star episode, a man gets angry at the local drive-thru. He crawls through the window as his wife and son sit in the car. He gets stuck. Owen and the team are called to get him out of the window. The scene turns crazy as onlookers laugh while they use lube and then lard to try and get him free. Owen suggests maybe anger management.

Tommy throws a birthday party for her twins. She worries they might be sad, it’s there first without their dad. Uncle Julius arrives. Tommy is annoyed he would just arrive unannounced. He missed his own brother’s funeral. She shows him the door.

The next day, Jud checks on Tommy at work about Julius showing up. She tells him she is just fine before going on a tear about how her brother-in-law is immature and unavailable. Meanwhile, Marj questions Owen about his therapy and mental health after overhearing him the other night with the man stuck in the drive-thru window. Owen tells her he is fine and has finished therapy. He then shuts down the conversation.

The man who was recently stuck in the drive-thru loses it at his son’s wrestling match and attacks the kid his son was wrestling. Owen and the team arrive to see the man from behind and know impossible they are familiar with him. This time, he is stuck in some metal seating. They have to cut him out. Owen offers him a card to his therapist. The man is mortified when his pants split.

After talking with her daughters, Tommy calls Julius over to discuss him seeing them again. She takes a few shots after he arrives to vent to him about how he had a good life and how Charles cared for him unconditionally. But he couldn’t show at his own brother’s funeral. Julius confesses he did go to the funeral but he couldn’t get out of the car. This surprises Tommy. Julius cries. She comforts him. He kisses her. She pauses. He says sorry and leaves.

Owen and Katherine go out for lunch. He thanks her for coming. He tells her he is sorry about the mistaken identity incident. He feels bad. He tells her how much he still cares for her. She feels the same. He hopes she wants to try again. She does but he needs to work on his anger issues. He denies he has any issues. She tells him she will talk to him after he seeks therapy.

The man with the anger issues named Al is on the highway with his family when another car drives up on them. He speeds by drinking a beer. Al speeds up. The man shows them a gun before throwing his beer at their windshield. He then flips his truck. It catches on fire. They watch while screaming in fear. Their car hits another.

Owen and the team show up. They help the drunk driver. Al gets upset. His family is injured. Al pulls a gun and shoots the drunk man as he is loaded in the ambulance. Owen knocks the gun out of his hand, asking him why. He tells Owen the man hurt his family. Later, the new returns to headquarters distraught and defeated. Owen is solemn. He commends his team for their actions.

Mateo asks Nancy out for coffee after he sees how emotional she is over the shooting. She could have been shot. She was near the patient. Tommy arrives home to find Julius telling her daughter’s stories about their father. Tommy invites Julius back into their lives full-time. Meanwhile, Owen attends therapy. He tells his therapist he has a lot of rage.
