Tonight’s AGT episode begins with the Cubcakes, they are representing North Hollywood. They dance to “Good Vibration,”.
Judges Comments: Sofia: “I thought you guys were perfect, the energy, the outfits.” Simon: “To succeed in this business you have to have personality and you did everything you should have done with that audition.”
Four yes votes from the judges puts the dance group on to the next level.
Ethan Jan is from Redlands, California, he is 17 years old, he is a junior in high school. He is going to do a quick Rubik’s cube act. Ethan goes down to the judges desk. Each judge has a Rubik’s cube and they scramble them up as much as they like. One by one Ethan put the cubes back to the right order, with one hand, behind his back. Then he gives them the next level, riding a unicycle while juggling three of the Rubik’s cubes while putting one back to the right order in his other hand.
Judges Comments: Sofia: “It was surprising because when I met you I found that you were not very exciting. That was amazing, flawless.” Simon: “He’s a genius. We love being surprised, that was a big surprise.” Howie: “What you did was truly amazing, I like how you under played it and then dazzled it.” Heidi: “I don’t think he is a real human. It doesn’t in theory sound exciting, but it was. Incredible.”
Four yes votes for Ethan and his Rubik’s cubes.
Kristen Cruz is from Crowley, Texas, she is 19 years old. She sings, she makes drinks and videos of her singing at the same tie. She tried getting a job at Home Depot and she thought, she wants to sing. She wants to inspire people, she doesn’t have to be the industry standard. She performs, “I See Red,” and the audience goes crazy. Howie lets out a big “wow.” A standing ovation from the judges and a wink from Simon.
Judges Comments: Sofia: “I want your voice. You were so powerful and it was unexpected, it was sexy.” Simon: “Unbelievable, was that really you singing. I was surprised, your voice is seasoned, your range, your tone and a great choice of song.” Howie: “You open your mouth and you are on fire.” Heidi: “I love everything about you, you are a star in the making, you are a gift.”
Four yes votes for Kristen to go to the next round. Terry gives her a big hug.
Chris James is a comedian, he is British and is from Watford, the same place as Simon. Howie says, “You are funny, likeable and hopefully this year a comic can go all the way. Four yes votes and he makes it through to the next round.
Connor King is from west Philadelphia and he is another comedian.
Judges Comments: Sofia: “I kind of enjoyed it but you kind of weren’t reading the room, but I give you a yes.” Simon: “There is something edgy about you so I am going to say yes.” Howie: “You need a little more time, so it’s no for now.” Heidi: “You had me laughing and I want to see more.”
Simon rolled his eyes and Howie said no, but he got three yes votes and makes it through.
Lace Larrabee is from Atlanta, Georgia, she is 38 years old, and she yet another comedian. She did pageants for 14 years until she aged out. A standing ovation for Lace.
Judges Comments: Sofia: “That was so funny and effortless. This was amazing, I loved it.” Simon: “Some of the comedians have been a bit dry, you were not and I liked when you were naughty.” Howie: “You were so natural, the fact that Sofia asked you a question in between and you didn’t lose your rythym was amazing.” Heidi: “The killer combination is beauty and brains, you have both.”
Lace got herself four yes votes.
Yannick Klister, he is 19 years old and is very excited because Heidi is there, he tells her she is perfect. He is from Germany, like Heidi. He says in Germany AGT is the biggest show. He is a dancing teacher and he studies math. His biggest dream is to win the show and tehen go on tour with Heidi. They bring out boxes on wheels that makes the act look more like a magic act. The song that plays is one that Heidi sings and Simon says it sounded like someone had trodden on a cat.
Judges Comments: Sofia: “My favorite part was the magic, but the whole thing was great.” Simon: “We weren’t expecting that. Your act was fantasticly good and bad at the same time.” Howie: “This show is all about surprise and we were all about that. You are original and I love the song. Heidi: “I loved it, loved it, loved it.”
Four yes votes for Yannick and his crew.
Kieran Rhodes, he is 20 years old from New York, and is going to be singing and playing the piano, he is completely self-taught from watching Youtube videos. He used to play a lot of baseball but once he saw Billy Joel he was hooked on music and playing the piano. Fat four years and he was accepted to Berkley College of Music and that is where he goes to school now. He chooses to sing a Billy Joel song, “She’s A Got A Way.” Simon stops him from singing, and asks him to sing an original song. Kieran wrote a song called, “Disengage,” when he was experiencing a lot of depression.
Judges Comments: Sofia: “Spectacular, I loved it. I could listen to you play and sing for hours. You are talented, you have it all. Simon: “You are a very interesting person, you are very talented. I really liked your original song and I hope this audtion will change your life.” Howie: “It was amazing, it was spectacular, I could feel the emotion. I could feel you were nervous, but you are a star.” Heidi: “There is a certain melancholoy in your voice.”
Four yes votes for Kieran.
Kristy Sellers is from Australia and she is a mother of three kids. She trains los of styles of dance. She hopes her act is a million dollar one. She is going to pole dance to “Hit The Road Jack.” A standing ovation from the judges.
Judges Comments: Sofia: “That was fascinating I couldn’t take my eyes off you and the story.” Simon: “You created this incredible sequence, this was phenomenol, really amazing.” Howie: “Who made the video? (she has an amazing animator) that was a Vegas show right there.”Heidi: “You are such an amazing vision and you brought pole dancing to a whole new level. I was incredible, you created a story.”
Four yes votes for Kristy.
Manny de Mago is from LA, he is a magician, he wants to do it full time. He starts with piercing his tongue with a steel rod. Both Howie and Simon hit the red buzzer. He doesn’t make it through.
Justin Rupple is from Washington, he is comic, he has been doing it for fourteen years, he is also a stunt double impersonator. Sometimes when an actor is finished filming an action scene and they don’t get the lines right in the movie, they have to come in later and redub it, they hire someone like him because the actor costs a hundred thousand per day, and he does not. His dream is to be a resident comic in Las Vegas.
Judges Comments: Sofia: “It was fun, entertaining, I think you have a really good future.” Simon: “I agree with everything, your story is what this story is all about. You are incredibly talented but just haven’t got the break you deserve.” Howie: “It was really unique in showing us how you arrive at the impression, I haven’t seen that before.” Heidi: “You just blew is out of the water, I love everything about you, you are a star already.”
Four yes votes for Justin.
Connor and Carson are the Cline twins, they both have a puck and a hockey stick, they are 16 years old. The audience and the judges loved it.
Judges Comments: Sofia: “I can just picture your mom hating this. That was so unexpected and different, I loved it.” Simon: “It was all a little Beavis and Butthead when you started, in a weird way it worked because it wasn’t expecting much and it was brilliant.” Howie: “It is great, unique and new.” Heidi: “I loved it.”
Four yes votes for the twins and the judges can’t wait to see what they will do next.
The next act is Glamour Aussies and they do dog dancing and this dog brings tears to the audience and judges.
Judges Comments: Sofia: “It was spectacular seeing her having such a great time while she was doing it.” Simon: “Amazing, this dog actually danced. I believe there will be a show in the future like Dancing with the Stars where dogs will enter. Remember where you heard it first.” Howie: “it was like ballet, tells a story, it was beautiful and I have never seen it done so well.” Heidi: “We have had many dog acts but yours has a storyline and it was so different, and leaves me wanting to see more.
Four yes votes for the dancing dog.
Testa does a danger act, I explored the limits of the body. A woman joins him on stage with knives. Testa shows how sharp the knives are. Terry says don’t try this at home. He puts is foot over a small put of fire, his foot is getting black, then he does the other one. He puts an apple on the blade, it sliced through, then the blades are stacked and he walks up them like they are stairs. Next, He takes his shirt off, the women gives him another blade, this one he hangs from under his chin.
Judges Comments: Sofia: “I have a weird relationship with acts like this because I love them and I hate them. I want to see it and I don’t want to see, this was amazing.” Simon: “It’s like watching the movie “The Omen” during lunchtime.” Howie: “There wasn’t a minute where we were not terrified.” Heidi: “I have seen a lot of danger acts but this I have never see, it is something new and I love it.”
Four yes votes for Testa.
The Mayyas is a group of women from Lebannon, being an Arab female dancer is not fully supported yet. Their dream is to be on this stage, they want to show the art Arab women can create and the fight they fight. They are going to hypnotize the judges. They ask them to get closer together. A standing ovation for the Mayyas.
Judges Comments: Sofia: “There are no words to tell you what we were feeling. It was the most beautiful creative dancing I have ever seen. I would be so honored to empower you even more in this journey.” Sofia hits the golden buzzer. Simon: “This will really make a difference in so many positive ways. It as the best dance act that we have ever seen and we are honored to have you here.” Howie: “We were hypnotized by the timing and the perfection.” Heidi: “Thank you for giving us a glmpse of your culture.”
Sofia goes up on the stage to congratulate the women and Terry tells them they are going straight to the live shows.
