Tonight’s episode begins with Nicolas and Emma, they are father and daughter, they are both French, she is there to translate for her dad who is going to do magic. When Nicolas was twenty he learned magic and left his job as an audiologist. She is a huge fan of the show, she convinced her dad to audition.

Judges Comments: Howie: “I always think that when people give something up like a profession, fingers crossed that they do well. You made the right choice, I have never seen magic done better, more unique.” Heidi: “That was so cool it was actually a different way of presenting magic.” Simon: “I think what you did is very unique, we want to see auditions that we haven’t seen before and that was one.”

Four “Oui” votes for Nicolas, and he is going through to the next round.

Next is Keegan the bicycle comedian, who is 39 years old from Chicago. It doesn’t take long for Simon to hit the buzzer, then Sofia, then Heidi, and lastly Howie. It’s a no from all the judges.

Mr. Pants is from Brooklyn, NY, and he is a comedian. He dreams to be in Vegas.

Judges Comments: Howie: “You are hysterical and you didn’t slack off.” Sofia: “I thought it was so simple but so funny.” Heidi: ”You did exactly what comedians are supposed to do, make us laugh.” Simon: “I thought you were really annoying and then you were silly fun.”

Four yes votes for Mr. Pants to move on in the competition.

Mia Morris is 17 years old, a junior in high school from Nashville. She is a songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. Her dream is to share her music and writing with the world.

Judges Comments: Howie: “I just think you are a star, looping is so cool, I could watch a concert, I can watch you do this.” Heidi: “I thought it was a fun, one-woman show.” Sofia: “I think you are one of the coolest girls to be on that stage.” Simon: “It was at times a mess, but it should be. I loved it.”

Mia and her one-woman show get four yes votes.

William is a musician, he is 25 and has been playing since he was 25. He has two boards with balloons and a dart, he goes around and busts them with a dart. He gets the red buzzer, several times and Simon asks him if he didn’t have birthday parties when he was a child. Four no votes, William is not going through.

Chico is from Cuba but lives in Spain and he is going to do a very dangerous balancing act. He goes really high on these stilts and balances, then goes higher, blindfolds himself and goes higher, then Higher than the AGT sign, as high as the X’s, and does a handstand balancing with two large knives under him.

Judges Comments: Howie: “That was really scary, amazing, the knives, I loved it.” Heidi: “It leaves me wanting more.” Simon: “How long have you been doing this? (second time in his life) We love you.”

Four yes votes for Chico and his brother Michael who assisted him. ‘’

After a couple of acts that don’t make it through, Connor Johnson is next, he is 23 years old, a street performer and surfer. His dream is to play like this every night. He sings and plays acoustic guitar. Simon stops him halfway through and says it is a bit boring. Connor sings a second song. Simon claps the second time.

Judges Comments: Howie: “I think you are going to be able to perform in a building like this every night.” Heidi: “You have a beautiful voice and you are easy on the eyes.” Sofia: “When Simon asks for a second song he is usually right and he was. Your voice was great and the second song was beautiful.” Simon: “Do you have a third song, kidding. So much better on the second song, well done.”

Four yes votes for Connor, who at first thought he wouldn’t make it through.

M++ is from Japan and they are a group of engineers and performs, they have been prepared for twelve years. They get a resounding standing ovation.

Judges Comments: Simon: “That was quite amazing, it was beautiful, very Vegas very original.” Sofia: “It was mesmerizing, so delicate, so uniform, the colors of the lights were soothing, I was like in a trance, I loved it.” Heidi: “I kind of forgot where I was for a moment. I was in the water and saw jellyfish. I loved it.” Howie: “Wow, you did it in the dark, it became a light show, I loved it.”

Four yes votes for M++

Pier and the Dreamacha Choir are passionate about music and sharing the music.

Judges Comments: Sofia: “This was another unexpected thing today. I thought it was going to be super boring and I was deading it.” Simon: “You won’t be singing ‘Oh Happy Day’ will you? It was like demons in a choir singing the Omen, then going into Britney Spears, it was fantastically creepy but I like going over to the dark side occasionally, so I get it.” Heidi: “I didn’t particularly love it, I don’t think people will buy tickets to see it.” Howie: “I didn’t even know you existed and I loved it.”

Heidi says no, and the others say yes so the metal choir is going to the next round.

Lily Meola is a singer/songwriter, the song she is going to do is an original called “Day Dream.” She wrote it at a time in her life when things were beautiful, she had a record deal, it was so beautiful and she wanted other people to feel that. Then her life flipped upside down, her mom was diagnosed with cancer, she was her full-time caregiver, and lost her record deal because of it. She gets a standing ovation from the audience and the judges.

Judges Comments: Howie: “You have a beautiful voice, I could feel the emotion. This moment right now, you are that butterfly on the way.” Sofia: “I think your mother was watching you tonight, the way you were feeling what you were doing, it was special and I really enjoyed that song.” Simon: “You never really tested the waters, there is something special about you. I think the fact that you came back after what you went through says a lot about you.” Heidi: “I don’t know what to say, I am speechless, I feel a light around you. There is always a lot of singers on the stage, but I really really like you.”

Heidi hits the golden buzzer and gets up to hug Lily.

Jordon Connolly is 29 from California, he is a stand-up comic, he’s been doing it for seven years now. He has very big dreams and they are all based on Kevin Hart.

Judges Comments: Sofia: “I thought it was spectacular, there is something about your energy, I think you have all the future ahead of you.” Simon: “You are naturally funny and super talented. When you did the voice, you really cracked me up. This was a really good audition, I like you a lot.” Heidi: “You are so fast, it is crazy, I was there with you and it was all fun.” Howie: “There are certain people, like Kevin Hart, people love him and people are going to say this is not acting, I love you, Jordon Connolly.”

Jordan has tears in his eyes and gets four yes votes along with the crowd cheering.

Merissa Bedows is from Yonkers, NY, and she is an opera singer. She does impressions and will do them while singing, “Somewhere over The Rainbow.” Another standing ovation.

Judges Comments: Howie: “You are a very good singer and a great impressionist. You are original, you did an amazing job.” Heidi: “I loved it and it is a different way of doing impersonations. My favorite was Celine Dion and Siri.” Sofia: “The whole act was perfect, you nailed every single voice.” Simon: “You are original, super talented, and funny.”

Four yes votes for Merissa.

Siegfried and Joy are from Berlin, Germany, they are magicians and say they are the new superstars of magic.

Judges Comments: Heidi: “You know there are moments like this when you are really proud to be a German.” Howie: “I love this, this year’s comedy is king.” Sofia: “You guys are brilliant, this was so creative, I want to be a part of your act.” Simon: “I didn’t get it and found you annoying. I thought it was all a bit stupid.”

Three yes votes get these comedic magicians through.
