Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Monday, September 26, reveals that Belle Brady’s (Martha Madison) death was the original plan, not Abigail DiMera’s (Marci Miller). Clyde Weston (James Read) confessed at gunpoint as Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) sought revenge for Abigail’s murder, so here’s how all the Days action played out.
At the Kiriakis mansion, Justin Kiriakis (Wally Kurth) rained on Bonnie Kiriakis’ (Judi Evans) parade after she gushed over Clyde and Nancy Miller’s (Patrika Darbo) imminent nuptials.
Bonnie got updates on Sonny Kiriakis’ (Zach Tinker) stabbing years ago and how Justin believed Clyde was responsible.
In the town square, Nancy couldn’t wait to marry Clyde and shared another sweet moment with him ahead of their wedding.
Afterward, Nancy came to Bonnie, who agreed to work her magic and make her a beautiful bride.
Once Justin talked to Sonny over the phone, he told Nancy that Clyde was the one who stabbed his son.
Justin clarified that he was talking about the more recent stabbing, but Nancy refused to believe it was true and acted like Sonny must be mistaken from all the hospital drugs.
Back with Clyde, he bumped into Belle in the town square and asked about EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel).
Clyde said to give EJ his best and mentioned his wedding to Nancy was happening at city hall soon.
At the DiMera mansion on Monday’s DOOL episode, EJ wondered what Chad was doing there.
Chad claimed he came to get something and revealed that Clyde was to blame for Abigail’s murder.
That brought more tension since EJ had failed to warn Chad about the threat to their family.
Although EJ pushed for more answers, Chad ultimately stormed out after promising to make Clyde pay.
Outside city hall, Chad put the gun he retrieved from the safe on Clyde’s back and forced him to the cemetery.
After Chad pointed out Abigail’s headstone, he demanded to know why Clyde killed her.
It took some convincing, but Clyde eventually revealed that Belle was the one he showed up to kill, not Abigail.
Some flashbacks revealed that Clyde bugged the living room, so he found out EJ told Belle about the hit Clyde ordered on him in the park.
Clyde also overheard EJ threatening to rub him out – though Belle suggested taking him down legally.
Since Clyde knew they were plotting against him either way, he showed up to kill Belle and send a message to EJ.
Belle wasn’t there when Clyde arrived, so Chad wanted to know how he wound up killing Abigail instead.
Since Chad felt that Clyde was stalling, he warned that they could try the freshly dug grave on for size.
Next on Monday’s Days episode, Craig Wesley (Kevin Spirtas) and Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) urged Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin) to drop her sabotage plans and accept Nancy’s marriage decision.
However, Chloe was tempted to bail when Clyde and Nancy were nowhere to be found at city hall.
After getting a warrant for Clyde’s arrest, Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) and Jada Hunter (Elia Cantu) showed up at city hall looking for him.
Nancy kept trying to act like they had it all wrong, but she broke down in tears when she learned Clyde was likely responsible for Abigail’s murder, too.
Soon after, Nancy met back up with Bonnie at the Kiriakis mansion and got some comfort.
Back at the DiMera residence, Belle showed up and mentioned her creepy run-in with Clyde.
EJ decided to handle Clyde himself and went for the gun in the safe – only to discover it was gone.
That led to EJ realizing Chad came for the gun earlier and was going to kill Clyde himself.
Although Belle wanted to call the cops, EJ insisted they should find Chad first and stop him.
Belle feared the worst since Clyde was more experienced with guns than Chad and could get the upper hand.
In the end, EJ relented on letting Belle call Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer) from the car.
