Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that Rex Brady (Kyle Lowder) may comfort Sarah Cook (Linsey Godfrey) after Xander Cook (Paul Telfer) blows up their marriage. Sarah’s ex may be the one to pick up the pieces of her broken heart, so let’s talk about some trouble that’s brewing.
DOOL fans know that Xander and Sarah’s marriage got off to a rocky start after a shocking confession.
Xander came clean about his one-night stand with Nicole Walker-Hernandez (Arianne Zucker) and how he accepted Sami Brady’s (Alison Sweeney) $1 million to expose it.
Thanks to Sami’s payment, Xander was willing to hurt and humiliate Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) in front of all his anniversary party guests.
The whole thing left Sarah appalled and uncertain she even wanted to be married to a man who would do that.
The good news is Sarah had a change of heart and was willing to wipe the slate clean.
The bad news is Xander can’t go down that scheming road again if he expects to keep this marriage intact.
Since Xander is a schemer at his core, he’s always going to be drawn to shady situations and sneaky stunts.
Xander always seems to be strapped for cash as well, so that’s a big motivator when it comes to his willingness to play dirty.
Days has basically turned Xander and Sarah’s marriage into a ticking time bomb since there’s no way he’ll be able to avoid mistakes forever.
Once Xander makes a wrong move, Sarah’s bound to flip out and act like he hasn’t changed at all.
The countdown is on when it comes to Xander’s next screwup, but Sarah may not have to go through the heartache alone.
Will Rex be Sarah’s knight in shining armor?
In the October 13 episode, Rex had a nice little moment with his former flame.
In a sweet scene, Rex acknowledged that he messed up when he was with Sarah, but he cherished their time together and wanted her happiness.
Sarah seemed to appreciate Rex for saying so and obviously felt the same way about him.
Now that Days is highlighting this past relationship, is there a chance it’ll come back around?
It makes sense for Xander to have some competition once his next blunder turns into a disaster.
Days writers could easily let Rex swoop in and wonder if he still has a shot with Sarah.
At the very least, Rex could be the one to comfort Sarah and might hold out hope that their friendship could once again become more.
Of course, Sarah and Xander may figure out a way forward eventually, but all signs point to some huge obstacles first.
