Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Thursday, September 22 Recap – Clyde Revealed as Killer – Nancy Confirms Vanilla Cologne to Chad

Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Thursday, September 22, teases that Clyde Weston (James Read) was revealed as the killer after Nancy Miller (Patrika Darbo) confirmed his vanilla cologne to Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn). Clyde also had a flashback that pointed to him stabbing Sonny Kiriakis (Zach Tinker), so here’s how all the DOOL drama went down.

At the pub, Clyde mentioned a text from his probation officer about a random drug test.

However, Nancy’s love was the only drug he needed, so Clyde wanted to get married today and stick it to Craig Wesley (Kevin Spirtas) while he was in town.

Nancy agreed to an ASAP wedding, but she didn’t want it to be some spiteful thing.

Instead, Nancy wanted Craig to attend along with Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin) and Brady Black (Eric Martsolf).

Clyde was fine with that and even suggested Craig could walk Nancy down the aisle.

After Clyde said he was going to take care of his drug test, he assured Nancy that he didn’t want to blow their chance together.

“’Til death do us part,” Clyde insisted on Thursday’s Days episode.

At the Horton house, Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) nearly caught Jennifer Deveraux (Cady McClain) with her pill bottle, but she was able to conceal it until she could put it behind Abigail DiMera’s (Marci Miller) picture frame.

Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien) dropped by and admitted she didn’t think Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart) was actually guilty despite turning him in.

That led to Gwen revealing Leo’s theory about Craig Wesley (Kevin Spirtas) being the killer.

Gwen truly hoped for justice one way or another and left after Jack headed for the newspaper office.

When Gwen returned for her purse, she caught Jennifer with her pill bottle and promised she wasn’t judging her.

Gwen knew Jennifer was an addict and talked about the research she did before she came to Salem.

Although Gwen wanted to hurt Jennifer back then, now she wanted to help.

Jennifer shut down Gwen’s attempt to get Jack and warned this was none of her business.

Since Jennifer felt that Jack would choose her over Gwen, she made it clear Gwen shouldn’t rat her out.

If Gwen said anything, Jennifer vowed to make sure she never saw her father again. Gwen looked rattled as Jennifer told her to “get the hell out” of her house.

In lockup at the Salem PD, Craig visited Leo and was appalled over his theory that he set him up.

Leo accused Craig of murdering Abigail and stabbing Sonny, but Craig denied it. After Leo kept pushing, Craig grabbed him through the bars menacingly.

In the interrogation room, Chad talked to Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) about Sonny smelling vanilla before he was stabbed – and how he smelled vanilla while hugging Craig, too.

Rafe was skeptical about this going anywhere, but he agreed to look into Craig.

Afterward, Rafe cornered Craig to question him and acted like it was because he was previously engaged to Leo.

Rafe suggested Craig knew Leo better than most people, so Craig was willing to help if he could.

At the hospital, Alex Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson) brought Sonny balloons, jellybeans and a stuffed pony from the giftshop.

Sonny accused Alex of trying to steal his job, but Alex assured him this was only temporary and that Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston) practically forced him into it.

Once Sonny calmed down and apologized, Stephanie Johnson (Abigail Klein) showed up looking for a comment.

A reporter was interested in a specific deal and wanted to know why an LLC owned by Alex bought a company before immediately selling it to Titan.

Sonny realized Alex had been plotting since before he came to Salem, but Alex argued that he was trying to help Sonny when he almost blew it.

Once Sonny accused Alex of being another person to stab him in the back, he threw him out of his hospital room.

Alex was also ordered to take his gifts, so he struggled with the balloons outside the elevator.

Once Clyde bumped into Alex, he warned him to watch where he was going and called him son.

“I’m not your son!” Alex shouted as Clyde sauntered off.

Once Alex made it back to the office, he wanted to tell Stephanie his side of the story. Stephanie wondered if that side also involved screwing over Sonny.

Alex assumed that meant Stephanie was “Team Sonny,” but she clarified that she was “Team Titan” and had to squash this before it turned into a crisis.

Stephanie turned down Alex’s lunch offer and felt that the drink they had together the other day was a mistake.

Outside the pub, Chad ran into Nancy and questioned her about the vanilla cologne or aftershave he smelled on Craig.

Nancy said Craig didn’t wear anything like that – and if he’d suddenly started, it would be quite a coincidence since Clyde also wore the scent of vanilla.

Chad flashed back to Craig’s hug, so Days viewers got a reminder that Clyde was standing nearby.

Back at the hospital, Clyde peeked in Sonny’s window and had a flashback of lurking behind him at Titan with a knife.

Days of Our Lives spoilers say Chad and Clyde are gearing up for a major showdown soon, so stay tuned to DOOL!
