Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Tuesday, March 8, teases that Clyde Weston (James Read) triggered EJ DiMera’s (Dan Feuerriegel) unsettling memory while Susan Banks (Stacy Haiduk) confronted Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) after receiving some devil news. Here’s how things played out in Tuesday’s exciting Days episode.
At Statesville, Belle Brady (Martha Madison) stopped by to see how EJ was holding up and give him some updates on his appeal.
Unfortunately, Belle had reached dead ends in the angles she’d been working, but she hoped to have better luck getting through to Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn).
EJ doubted that Chad would confess anything that would help him, but he genuinely appreciated Belle’s support – especially since he went against her advice at every turn in court.
Belle made it clear that she wouldn’t abandon EJ as they shared a warm moment.
Belle also found out Clyde was EJ’s cellmate and that they had a prior connection through shady business.
Although Belle was concerned, EJ felt like it was good to have someone to show him the ropes and suggested he had no better options.
Meanwhile, Orpheus (George DelHoyo) stood outside Clyde’s cell and eventually taunted him over having a cellmate that he once tried to kill.
Clyde pointed out that he didn’t pull the trigger, but Orpheus knew Clyde was responsible for ordering EJ’s death.
Since Clyde was up for parole soon, Orpheus seemed willing to keep his mouth shut and make sure no additional crimes came to light.
Orpheus thought it’d be good to have a friend on the outside, so Clyde was glad to be on the same page.
When EJ appeared, he wondered what Clyde and Orpheus were talking about.
Clyde covered before EJ got a formal introduction to Orpheus, who sauntered out soon after.
Once alone with EJ, Clyde urged him to enjoy the “nice, cushy lifestyle” that prison had to offer.
That triggered an unsettling memory for EJ, who recalled Clyde mocking his “nice, cushy lifestyle” before the shooting years ago.
At DiMera Enterprises, Gabi Hernandez DiMera (Camila Banus) finally convinced Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) this wasn’t a joke.
Gabi explained how Johnny got a seat on the board while Li Shin (Remington Hoffman) approved her return to the CEO spot.
Chad eventually left in a huff and landed back at the DiMera mansion, where Belle showed up to discuss the evidence in EJ’s case.
However, Chad quickly changed the subject to Gabi’s sudden rise to power.
Back at DiMera, Jake DiMera (Brandon Barash) was forced to tangle with the devil after Johnny came clean about the possession.
Gabi eventually came rushing in after a commotion and found Jake unconscious on the table.
Johnny insisted that Jake attacked him and told Gabi that he acted in self-defense.
As Jake started to come to, Days fans saw a flashback of Johnny zapping his any devil memories from Jake’s brain.
Jake struggled to make sense of what happened, but he knew Johnny was a creep who tried to turn Gabi against him.
Johnny acted like Jake’s excuses were pathetic – and Gabi clearly didn’t buy them either.
After Johnny left, Jake and Gabi confirmed their breakup.
There was sadness despite the anger on both sides – and once Gabi was back in her office, she flashed back to a happier us-against-the-world moment with Jake.
At Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson) and Ciara Brady Weston’s (Victoria Konefal) apartment, they were surprised when Susan arrived.
Susan admitted she had a premonition about someone near and dear to her heart, so she assumed Ciara and Ben wanted to talk about EJ.
Ben and Ciara explained Johnny was the source of their concerns, so they brought Susan up to speed on their possession suspicions.
Susan insisted she never would’ve left Salem if she thought the devil had entered Johnny, but she did recall getting sick on the night of Johnny’s wedding reception.
After Susan remembered feeling like the devil wasn’t done yet, she decided she had to get to the bottom of this and help Johnny.
Susan soon cornered Johnny at the DiMera mansion to see if he really was her grandson.
Back with Ben on Tuesday’s DOOL episode, he got a visit from a defeated Jake.
After finding out Johnny was behind Gabi’s betrayal, Ben had a hunch how he pulled it off!
