Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Wednesday, May 18, reveals that Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) was jealous over Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker) and Eric Brady’s (Greg Vaughan) cozy moment. Bloody TR Coates (William Christian) also haunted Lani Price-Grant (Sal Stowers), so here’s how all the Days action played out.
At the hospital, Lani had a nightmare about blood-stained TR popping up and wondering how she could shoot her own daddy dead.
At the Salem PD on Wednesday’s DOOL episode, Paulina Price (Jackée Harry) tried to cobble together a shooting story for Rafe.
Paulina got tripped up after Rafe pointed out Lani’s service weapon was used in the shooting, but she settled on the idea that she grabbed the gun from Lani’s holster when she was making the arrest.
That didn’t add up to Rafe since TR no longer would’ve been a threat at that point. Rafe wondered if something happened on Lani’s end, but Paulina blurted out that Lani did nothing wrong.
After Lani dodged Eli Grant’s (Lamon Archey) questions about the shooting, she visited Paulina and tried to talk her out of taking the fall.
Paulina insisted Lani’s family needed her, but Lani countered that she needed Paulina. After Paulina once again begged Lani to let her take the blame, Lani hugged her birth mom in a close moment.
Back at the hospital, Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) filled Abe Carver (James Reynolds) in on Tripp Johnson’s (Lucas Adams) miraculous return from the dead. Abe also learned Lani’s service weapon was used in the shooting – and he thought back to Paulina seemingly asking what Lani had done.
Later, Eli was up and about, so he joined Abe in his hospital room. Once they compared notes, Eli realized it was odd for Lani to claim Paulina “said” she shot TR when she was in the room.
Abe mentioned potentially hearing Paulina ask what Lani had done, so Eli asked if Abe thought Lani shot TR.
At the Kiriakis mansion on Wednesday’s Days episode, Xander Cook (Paul Telfer) admitted that Eric now knew he was Mackenzie “Mickey” Horton’s father.
That didn’t please Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey), but she bought Xander’s explanation and learned Mickey was with Eric now. Xander kept finding ways to distract Sarah and keep her busy before dashing off to find Eric.
Meanwhile, Eric showed up at Nicole’s place when she was expecting Rafe. That led to Nicole’s embarrassment since she opened the door talking about how she’d been waiting all night to make love to him!
Eric revealed he was leaving for Africa again, so Nicole talked about it being hard to let go – though she knew they were on separate paths now. After Eric assured Nicole of their friendship, they shared a hug right as Rafe arrived.
Once Eric explained his Africa departure and took off, Rafe acknowledged his jealousy. Nicole made it clear that Rafe was her one and only now before they decided to shower together.
Later, Nicole was stunned when Sarah showed up at the door looking for “Mickey.” As for Xander, he tracked Eric down to beg for help with the Sarah situation.
