Special Agent in Charge Bashir wasn’t a good man. He did questionable things on the job. Yet, OA was given the chance to take him down and he refused to take it. He instead allowed himself to get kicked out of a mosque he liked. He also lied to his direct boss for Bashir. OA had done a lot to keep Bashir safe and Bashir wants to repay that. He wanted to put OA’s name up for promotion. OA has never thought of promotion or even becoming a team leader. He likes his job as a field agent. He likes being able to go out into the world and deliver justice. It was Bashir who planted the idea of promotion. And now OA was thinking it over.

OA and his partner were later assigned to the NYC bombing case. Someone had bombed an anti-gun lobbying office and everyone assumed it was the gun nuts behind it. The woman who was currently behind the push for the city-wide initiative to ban assault weapons has said she got plenty of push back from gun nuts and Ann Tasker wasn’t going to change a single thing to change that. Ann made a promise to herself after her daughter was killed by gun violence in the city. She promised to eliminate gun violence and she was doing her best to do so. She didn’t care about the gun nuts. The second amendment people were all about personal rights until it came to the rights of people they hated.

The gun nuts were recently stirred up by a tv host who called for “anything necessary” to get Ann to stop her crusade. The tv host had denied all connection to the bombing and he only offered up names of people who write to him in exchange for not being charged himself with incitement. The guy was a sleaze, but the rally outside of his house did in fact help. There were plenty of gun nuts to sort through. The team even saw footage of someone going to a storage container and the contents of that container was tested. It was positive for explosives. It also showed that there was more than just one bomb that was created.

The FBI got security footage from the storage facility. They saw a hooded man carrying two boxes and it was traced back to a man named Moder. Moder made the bombs. He has the knowledge. He sold it to someone named Wally. A guy he met at a bar. Jubal went undercover as a handler and he tried to meet Wally only he was stonewalled. He didn’t meet him there. The FBI instead laid a trap for Wally. They later spotted him going into the bar. They tried to arrest him then and unfortunately he got away. It just didn’t happen fast enough because their cameras picked up

Wally got away that first time. They later caught up to him and the FBI was able to arrest him later. But by then, OA heard back from Bashir. Bashir wanted to talk to OA about something OA saw. OA and Tiffany saw the local NYPD roughing up a gun nut. Tiffany put it in a report. Someone from DC heard about it and now they’re asking OA to not corroborate the story. They were even dangling the chance of promotion and so OA not saying something before has led Bashar to believe he could be bought. OA’s future wasn’t the only thing at risk. The second bomb went off and it killed two teenagers as well as put a third in a coma.

Wally was made to answer for it. He said he was in a chat room ranting about Ann when someone approached him with the chance to make money and the promise was that no one would get hurt. The only reason the teenagers got hurt is that they broke into a warehouse where a newspaper advocating for anti-gun was being run. Wally didn’t know who “hired” him. He never met them in person. The FBI looked into it and in the meantime, Maggie and Stuart went to go check on Ann. They wanted to know how she’s been holding up when they accidentally came across some loose bullets in her home. They also found the address to the second bombing location written on a piece of paper.

That’s when it became clear to Maggie. Maggie realized that the whole bombing thing was a false flag carried out by Ann to get her initiative to pass and it unfortunately failed. Ann then grabbed her gun. She went down to the studio where the tv host who riled people up was located. She took hostages and she was threatening to kill her hostages if the tv host wasn’t handed over to her. The FBI couldn’t risk someone’s life like that and so Maggie decided to not wait for a negotiator. She went in. She tried to reason with Ann. They were both from Indiana and Maggie understood why she was doing all of this. Ann wanted to prove her daughter didn’t die for anything.

Maggie was able to convince Ann to hand over her gun and to do so without anyone getting hurt. But OA chose to do the right thing as well. He defended Tiffany and he said he witnessed the cops assaulting their suspect. He told the truth. He risked his career but he didn’t care.
