General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) may confess to having a dead former flame. Will Cody’s painful past soften Britt Westbourne’s (Kelly Thiebaud) heart?
So far, Britt has mostly been annoyed by Cody, which is understandable considering how smug and uncouth he is on any given day. However, a tiny part of Britt seems intrigued by Cody, even if she doesn’t want to be.
Between that sliver of interest and Cody’s relentless behavior, Britt’s got some good reasons to go on the date she agreed to.
Of course, Britt doesn’t realize Cody manipulated this Society Setups situation by arranging their “match” through Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson).
Cody is attracted to Britt, but he also has a hidden agenda – one that’ll become clear once he’s pumping Britt for Cesar Faison (Anders Hove) info on their date night.
It won’t be long until Britt catches on, especially since Cody already grilled her about Faison at the hospital.
The only thing Britt won’t understand is why Cody’s so obsessed with her evil deceased father.
Cody may not reveal the truth right away, but he dropped a hint during a chat with Comet the horse on July 6.
After Cody admitted being a hustler, he said he really wanted a place of his own – where no one could steal what he loved. “Assuming I ever let myself love anything again,” Cody added somberly.
It’s possible someone stole a living love interest away from Cody, but he seems like the persistent type who would’ve won her back.
Perhaps this is actually a case of Cody being robbed by death and the person who caused it.
That person could easily be Faison or someone once connected to him.
Cody obviously has his walls up when it comes to love based on what he told Comet. Maybe Cody is afraid of falling hard and watching someone else slip away.
That could become a great complication for Cody and Britt down the road considering her Huntington’s disease marker diagnosis.
Naturally, there’s a chance that a rewrite will undo Britt’s condition in time, but it’ll remain a crucial part of Britt’s storyline until that happens.
Whatever the case, Cody is battling a broken heart due to a lost love, so there’s the potential for Britt’s own heart to soften once he finally opens up.
General Hospital spoilers say Britt will uncover more about Cody’s backstory eventually, so that could change her perception of him.
