General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Friday, February 18, reveals that The Severed Branch spilled Peter August’s (Wes Ramsey) secrets while Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner) had a Hidden Meadow memory. Here’s how all Friday’s drama played out.
At Spring Ridge, Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) was grateful for Laura Collins’ (Genie Francis) visit, but he complained about the lack of air conditioning in his cell.
There was a fan blowing nearby since a heatwave had bizarrely struck Port Charles.
Laura and Spencer wound up bickering over Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy), who had been responsible for countless abductions and deaths according to Laura.
Laura also reflected on Victor being part of the plan to take over the world using the Ice Princess to mess with weather patterns.
Laura couldn’t understand why Spencer embraced Victor and refused to see the good in Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma).
After Spencer ranted about Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West) and his abandonment issues, the best he could offer was a “maybe” on trying to work things out with Nikolas.
At the Metro Court, Victor interrupted Nikolas and Ava as they were discussing their vows for their upcoming recommitment ceremony.
Victor was disappointed to learn Ava and Nikolas were now planning a more private gathering.
Victor hoped they’d reconsider and mentioned his gift of Nikolas’ reunion with Spencer.
When Laura appeared, she piped up to say Nikolas and Spencer didn’t need Victor’s help.
After Victor left, Ava tried to act like he’d made some good points and thought playing along with Victor could result in figuring out his hidden agenda.
Laura said Nikolas should undercut Victor when it came to his relationship with Spencer, so Nikolas agreed to visit Spencer on his own.
As for Ava, she could tell Laura was up to something and grew curious about her plans regarding Victor.
Back at Spring Ridge, Spencer got a visit from Victor along with a lecture about how important it was for the Cassadines to come together – including Nikolas.
Spencer insisted that Victor was his family and vowed not to forget that.
Spencer seemed pleased over Victor’s talk about all the big things ahead. Once Victor was gone, Nikolas also stopped by Spring Ridge and surprised Spencer.
At the cabin Peter intended to be their new home, he told Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) they would have everything they needed.
Maxie tried to fish for info about where they were before Peter noticed her earrings were missing.
After Maxie lied that she must’ve lost the first one in their rush to get out of Port Charles, she told Peter she just ditched the other one.
Maxie insisted they were just costume jewelry anyway.
Peter said it was all diamonds and rubies from now on, but all Maxie cared about was keeping her children safe.
Peter assured Maxie that they could bring Louise to the farm one day.
In the meantime, Peter had an escape plan in case anyone showed up looking for them. He also had a gun, which Maxie quickly urged Peter to put away.
However, Maxie also pretended she was sorry she’d been so angry before.
Maxie tried to keep Peter placated by acting like she could see now that he’d done everything out of love.
Peter mentioned his caretaker who could get things for them, so Maxie was able to get the name of the village nearby.
Maxie acted like she was chilly at one point, so Peter offered to build a fire.
While Peter was out of the room, Maxie looked through some maps and got caught when Peter returned.
Maxie claimed she wanted to take a walk and talk, but Peter said that would have to wait. It was getting dark – and that was when the wolves came out.
At the Swiss WSB office, Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) found out the woman who found the message was interviewed.
There was also surveillance footage of the car, including the license plate, but there were a lot of places to cross the border.
Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) feared they were running out of breadcrumbs, but Anna got an idea and determined there were clues in Peter’s book: The Severed Branch by P.K. Sinclair.
Anna eventually realized Peter wrote about the old salt mines with affection.
On a plane, Felicia took her own flight to Switzerland and looked up rental cars.
Felicia also recalled an old conversation with Peter about his favorite place on earth in the Swiss Alps.
Felicia remembered Peter telling her the name of the tiny village nearby, which translated to “Hidden Meadow.”
At GH, Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) made it clear that she didn’t want Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) joining the Peter search and putting herself in danger.
Britt threatened to put an involuntary psych hold on Liesl or harpoon her with a spear gun again if she had to.
Britt, Liesl, Austin Gatlin Holt (Roger Howarth) and Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) all discussed Victor as well as the planted bug that had been destroyed.
At one point, Liesl had a lightbulb moment and called Anna.
Liesl was able to confirm Anna’s hunch about the salt mines and insisted Peter would be at the nearby farm where he became the man he was today.
Liesl explained that the farm was part of a youth camp that Peter went to on school holidays.
Liesl told Anna to find Peter and do whatever she had to do to bring Maxie home.
Next, Victor complained about the heat as he met back up with his henchman.
After Victor learned Anna had arrived overseas with Drew and Dante, he declared that he wanted Peter dead.
Victor insisted that Anna and Dante were expendable, but Drew was too valuable to lose.
Victor’s henchman then called and relayed this info to a WSB agent, who was working on the same case with Anna and the others.
Since Peter liked to think he was a step ahead, Anna felt there would be a clue – one that he thought only he knew.
Anna hoped it would be the key to closing on the farm.
