General Hospital (GH) spoilers for Friday, January 7, tease that Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) will face a wedding ring mystery while Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) makes a passionate plea to Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright). Phyllis Caulfield (Joyce Guy) will also shut down Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros), so let’s talk about what’s in store.
In the Corinthos kitchen, Sonny and Carly will once again try to work through their Nina issues. Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) pushed Sonny to talk to Carly and help her believe how he feels, so Sonny just came home to do that.
Sonny will make an emotional speech about his love for Carly and how he doesn’t want to spend another minute without her.
Carly will still be upset over the love Sonny found with Nina in Nixon Falls, but she’ll try to remember all the advice Olivia Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero) offered up.
Carly felt like she chose Sonny over Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) once her husband came home.
However, Olivia suggested Carly was bottling up her feelings – and Carly seems to be opening her mind to how complicated Sonny’s similar situation is.
Olivia also pushed Carly to let Sonny know how she feels about him in the present, so Carly will express her love and feel Sonny’s love in return.
Even so, Sonny can’t shake his feelings about Nina.
Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West) just reminded Nina of that and gave her some hope for a Nixon Falls sequel, so Nina will make a shocking suggestion to Phyllis.
When Nina wonders if Sonny’s happiness might lie with her, Phyllis will dish out some tough love.
Phyllis may contend that no matter what went down between Nina and “Mike,” Sonny is a married man and has a family to think about.
Maybe Phyllis will accuse Nina of being selfish, especially considering her romance with Sonny never should’ve happened.
Phyllis will try to bring Nina back down to reality, but Ava was right about Sonny still feeling something for Nina – and that’s going to remain a problem as this storyline moves forward.
At Kelly’s, Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) will suggest things might not work out this time as she opens up to Cameron Webber (William Lipton).
It sounds like Josslyn will worry Carly and Sonny won’t be able to put their marriage back together like all the times they’ve done it before.
As for Ava, she’ll deliver some surprising info to Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) and Trina Robinson (Sydney Mikayla).
When Spencer tries to walk away, Ava will make it clear that they’re not finished yet. She might remind Spencer that part of his deal involves making restitution to the victim.
Ava may end up taunting Spencer a bit, but she’ll truly want a way forward for all of them. Ava might argue that despite what Spencer believes, she’s not the enemy.
That said, Ava might also point out that she’s very protective of Trina. She won’t stand for Spencer doing anything to hurt Trina again and may advise him to keep Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) on a short leash.
Speaking of Esme, she’ll put on an act as usual. Esme will ask how she can “take this” from someone, too – clearly feigning concern over some situation.
This may be another attempt to make Cam see her as some kind-hearted individual who actually cares about Trina and her group of friends.
Other GH spoilers say Finn will wonder if Liz is having some second thoughts. Finn may bring up the fact that Liz removed her wedding ring recently and question if she regrets that decision.
Liz will indeed battle some doubts since that ring will mysteriously show up in her locker at work.
As a result, Liz and Finn will cancel their first official date. It’ll just be too weird since Liz won’t know what’s going on and will have more grief to work through.
Meanwhile, Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) will track Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) down so he can pick up “Bailey Quartermaine” aka Louise August (London and Jett Prinzo-Berendt).
Chase will want to take “Bailey” to meet Finn, but Brook Lynn will fret over a big snag.
Brook Lynn suspects Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) knows the truth about “Bailey” – and GH fans know Tracy indeed figured it out. However, Tracy has bigger fish to fry right now since she just got arrested at the Metro Court!
Brook Lynn may get updates and realize that might buy them some time, but she’ll still worry about the trouble Tracy could cause if she blows this up.
Although Brook Lynn will have to come clean to Chase soon, we’ll see if she might delay that news.
Whatever the case, Chase will make a suggestion that Brook Lynn goes along with. “Why can’t it be both?” Chase asks in Friday’s preview video.
Brook Lynn then shrugs and nervously laughs as she replies, “Why not?”
Perhaps Chase will suggest they can still have fun as pretend parents while still doing their job of protecting Louise.
Of course, Brook Lynn and Chase will grow increasingly attached to the baby, which could lead to heartbreak down the road.
