General Hospital (GH) spoilers update for Friday, January 7, teases that Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) will face a broken heart while Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) feels like she can make Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) happy. Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) will also stir up some pre-cabin chaos, so let’s talk about the shockers and shakeups ahead.
At Kelly’s, Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) will continue to dwell on Carly Corinthos’ (Laura Wright) heartache and the marriage mess that Nina caused.
Cameron Webber (William Lipton) may point out that Carly and Sonny have fought their way back to each other before, but Josslyn will fear it might be difficult this time around.
As for Nina, she’ll let Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West) get inside her head. Nina will start to believe the fantasy world she created with Sonny in Nixon Falls could become a reality in Port Charles.
Nina will get that Sonny’s married, but she’ll have to wonder if maybe he could be truly happy with her instead.
Phyllis Caulfield (Joyce Guy) considers Nina to be a close friend, so she’ll want to be brutally honest about this disastrous idea.
When Phyllis sees the potential for Nina to ruin Sonny’s marriage even further, she’ll try to put a stop to it.
Phyllis won’t want Nina chasing after some dream that was never meant to be. She’ll urge Nina to back off and let Sonny work things out with Carly, but Nina may keep a little hope alive in the back of her mind.
Next, Sonny will pour his heart out and try to help Carly see that she’s the woman he wants to be with. He can’t deny his feelings for Nina, but that doesn’t mean he wants to throw his marriage away.
Sonny will focus on his commitment to Carly, who’ll soften somewhat and open up about her own complicated love triangle.
Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) is gone now, but Carly will try to understand Sonny’s perspective since her feelings for Jason remain deep.
Next, Esme will prove she’s quite the mischief-maker once again. She’ll want to create a little extra drama since the teens are about to be thrown into a cabin pressure cooker.
Esme, Josslyn, Cameron, Trina Robinson (Sydney Mikayla) and Spencer Cassadine’s (Nicholas Chavez) upcoming trip is sure to be a getaway to remember!
Before they all hit the road, Esme will act torn up about some situation and perhaps play the role of tortured soul around Cam.
Other GH spoilers say Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) will want to take “Bailey Quartermaine” aka Louise August (London and Jett Prinzo-Berendt) to meet his brother.
Chase will hope “Bailey” can get to know Finn as they keep the charade going as fake parents, but Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) will be on edge.
Of course, Brook Lynn’s real problem will be her concerns over Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot), who just got arrested but could still spill the truth.
Even if Brook Lynn keeps quiet about that for now, she’ll have to fret over attachment issues.
Brook Lynn may fear Chase is going overboard on his faux daddy gig, but Chase won’t see why they shouldn’t fully embrace their roles – especially since they’ll be keeping Louise safe in the process.
When the time comes to separate from “Bailey,” that’ll be a new challenge for Brook Lynn and Chase to tackle together.
Until then, Brook Lynn will just hope Tracy focuses on her legal issues and stays silent about Maxie Jones’ (Kirsten Storms) baby.
Spencer is supposed to make restitution to Ava before he serves out his time at Spring Ridge, so his conversation with her on Friday may involve that task.
Nevertheless, Ava will also shock Spencer and Trina with some important news.
Ava will also drag things out a bit by offering a warning to Spencer. She thinks the world of Trina, so she might want him to remember that.
If Spencer dares to cause Trina any pain ever again, then he’ll have Ava to contend with!
Despite all the tension, Ava may express her desire to be some form of a family with Spencer and Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) one day.
It might be wishful thinking, but Ava will hope for peace and won’t want Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) making a bigger mess.
Finally, Liz will be unsettled when she discovers the wedding ring she took off in her locker.
Liz won’t know how it got there, so she’ll be shaken and will suddenly cancel her first official date with Finn.
Finn will find out about Liz’s second thoughts and understand, but he’ll definitely be disappointed.
Perhaps Chase can lift Finn’s spirits with that “Bailey” visit we mentioned and offer a pep talk.
