General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Johnny Wactor is speaking out on his GH firing and the behind-the-scenes details of Brando Corbin’s forced exit. After the mysterious hook villain speared Brando with a poisoned weapon, he ultimately met a grim fate on September 20.
Now Wactor is sharing what it was like to film Brando’s final episodes after being written off the ABC soap.
In a new interview with SOD, Wactor admitted that his last days were a whirlwind since he had so much material to play.
That didn’t give Wactor much time to focus on his departure or really let his emotions take over.
However, Wactor had a chance to reflect once he officially wrapped filming and addressed the cast as well as the crew.
Since Wactor made so many great relationships during his stint, he wanted to give a speech and offer a proper goodbye.
Wactor confessed to being “a little emotional” at that point, so it sounds like it finally sank in that his run as Brando was over.
Of course, it wasn’t Wactor’s choice to leave. Wactor wasn’t anticipating such an early departure from the role of Brando Corbin, but he confirmed he has no hard feelings.
“I’ve got no bad blood and I wish everyone at GH the best,” Wactor insisted.
Sometimes actors get fired and that’s just the way it goes in the soap world. A character like Brando was particularly useful when it came to killing off a hook victim.
Brando was important enough to tug at heartstrings and have a real impact, but his exit won’t leave a gaping hole in the cast.
Even so, it’s hard to bid farewell to Brando, especially since he’ll never have a happy ending with Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson).
Now Sasha will have to grieve another difficult loss, but she’ll have plenty of support.
Will you miss Johnny Wactor as Brando Corbin? Would you rather have seen other characters get killed off instead?
General Hospital spoilers say the aftermath of Brando’s demise will bring some gripping drama, so stay tuned.
