General Hospital Spoilers: Monday, January 17 Recap – Avery Spills Secret to Britt – Sonny Dodges Carly’s Prescription Questions

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Monday, January 17, reveals that Avery Corinthos (Ava and Grace Scarola) spilled a secret to Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) after Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) dodged Carly Corinthos’ (Laura Wright) prescription questions. Let’s talk about how Monday’s exciting episode played out.

At GH, Marshall Ashford (Robert Gossett) turned to Epiphany Johnson (Sonya Eddy) for help with his injured wrist, though it quickly became apparent he made up the story to spend time with her.

Marshall wanted to know if Epiphany had given any more thought to his offer of performing together.

Marshall also worried maybe he offended Epiphany when he called her a doctor early on.

That led to Epiphany admitting she wanted to be a doctor when she was younger. Marshall didn’t think it was too late to follow her dreams and wanted to hear more over dinner.

Epiphany resisted at first, but she eventually suggested going out for prime rib after her shift ended.

Marshall liked the sound of that as they made their plans official.

At The Savoy, Laura Collins (Genie Francis) dropped by and caught up with Curtis, who eventually filled her in on his father dilemma.

Laura understood the need to leave for your family’s own protection since she did that when she went into hiding. She thought Curtis might have to accept that Marshall did what he did out of love.

At the boxing gym, Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) used Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) as a sparring partner and mentioned the shares situation with Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart).

Michael was also willing to step aside and led Drew lead Aurora again if that’s what Drew wanted.

However, Drew praised Michael’s work at the company, which Drew only started as a fresh start away from Sonny’s organization.

Michael felt Drew did the right thing by distancing himself from Sonny and admitting to having problems with his father right now.

Drew mentioned his recent chat with Carly and tried to stay hopeful about the situation for “CarSon.”

In the meantime, Sonny urged Carly to come home since she called his bluff and proved her point. Carly argued that’s not what she was doing and assured Sonny that she legitimately needed space.

At one point, Carly brought up a message she’d received about Sonny needing to refill his lithium prescription and asked if he’d done it.

Sonny thought back to throwing his pill bottle and argued that he was “on it,” but he didn’t want Carly changing the subject.

Sonny thought that if Carly couldn’t trust him anymore, she should at least trust in how she feels about him.

Brick (Stephen A. Smith) waltzed in after being let through by the guards, but he quickly realized he was interrupting something.

After Carly took off, Brick filled Sonny in on a new threat since someone forced one of Sonny’s suppliers out of business.

Brick insisted this was a brand-new player – a complete unknown. Brick was working on getting a name, but Sonny was distracted and had trouble focusing.

Sonny insisted he had a lot on his mind, so Brick decided to weigh in on the apparent issue in Sonny’s personal life.

Brick noted that when you’ve got one man and two women, that’s one woman too many.

Brick knew he couldn’t replace Jason Morgan (Steve Burton), but he vowed to help in any way he could.

Sonny was grateful and thought this nameless threat was child’s play compared to what he was going through with Carly.

At Crimson, Britt sought Nina Reeves’ (Cynthia Watros) help getting Selina Wu (Lydia Look) to back off Brad Cooper (Parry Shen).

Nina didn’t think Sonny would want to do anything for Brad – and it’s not like Nina was in a position to ask for special Sonny favors anyway.

Britt acted like ever since Sonny came home, he’d been locked away in this marriage prison with Carly. She thought maybe Nina could help by giving Sonny the key to escape.

Nina ultimately admitted she was a little tired of being the other woman without any of the benefits, but she refused to make a move.

Since Britt wasn’t getting anywhere with Nina, she decided to call Sonny and ask for help herself.

Avery picked up Sonny’s phone while he was talking to Brick by the door. She let Britt know her daddy couldn’t come to the phone and mentioned that Carly wasn’t there either.

After Britt hung up, she told Nina it sounded like Carly wasn’t living at the Corinthos house anymore.

As for Carly, she met with Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy), who wondered if she was her friend or a lawyer right now.

Diane heard about Carly moving to a suite at the Metro Court, so she said she couldn’t represent both Sonny and Carly.

Diane thought Carly should be honest about whether she wanted to take the next legal step and had a feeling Carly wanted to fight for her marriage instead.

General Hospital spoilers say Carly and Sonny still have plenty of drama to work through, so stay tuned.
