General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Monday, June 20, reveals that Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) was fired and furious after a Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom) lie was exposed. Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) also decided to work the birth parents angle when it came to Esme and turned to Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) for help.
At the Metro Gardens, Laura Collins (Genie Francis) talked to Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight) about her belief that Victor was behind the safehouse attack and Luke Spencer’s (Anthony Geary) murder.
Laura also hoped to have Victor deported and pump the brakes on his mysterious plan.
Meanwhile, Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner) told Mac Scorpio (John J. York) about confronting Ryan and left him concerned.
At GH, Esme stopped by Kevin Collins’ (Jon Lindstrom) office to discuss the psychology program at PCU and the help she needed getting into it.
Although Esme wanted to do a case study and admission essay on Ryan, Kevin refused to assist her.
Esme pointed out that Kevin had already restricted her access to Ryan at Spring Ridge, but he argued that wasn’t a punishment and was nothing personal.
What Esme really wanted to ask about was Ryan’s attachment style and whether he’d ever formed a sincere attachment to another human.
If Ryan hadn’t, Esme wanted to know if that was hereditary.
Kevin got the feeling this wasn’t just about Ryan, so Esme suggested she was in the dark on her birth parents and wondering what was wrong with her.
After Kevin assured Esme that she wasn’t a narcissistic sociopath like his brother, he pointed out how dangerous Ryan was – even in a locked-in state.
Kevin later met up with Laura, Mac and Felicia for a nightcap.
That led to Felicia talking about her faceoff with Ryan and how his new aid was there. Kevin took off in a hurry after Felicia remembered Esme’s name.
At Kelly’s, Spencer was finishing his last shift when Victor appeared.
Although Spencer wanted to play his cards close to the vest regarding his next project, he spoke about his relationship with Esme like it was real.
Spencer wound up mentioning how much Esme wanted to know who her birth parents were.
Victor initially worried that reunion could backfire, but Spencer hoped for help with the search and got him on board.
After Esme showed up, Kevin wasn’t too far behind.
It wasn’t long until Kevin confronted Esme for lying about her contact with Ryan and getting around the restricted access.
Kevin made it clear that Esme’s Spring Ridge internship was over and that she would no longer be permitted on the premises, so she flew into a rage.
At the drive-in theater, Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) and Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) enjoyed plenty of flirty moments as they made plans for another date.
However, there was a bit of a snag due to a text Valentin got from Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight) about his father.
Anna mentioned the text that came in while Valentin was out of the car, so he checked it and lied about the real message.
Soon after, Anna seemed uneasy – like she’d snuck a peek and knew Valentin wasn’t telling her the truth.
At Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) and Curtis Ashford’s (Donnell Turner) place, Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) came home to find them as well as Marcus Taggert (Real Andrews).
They all wanted to support Trina following the Title IX ruling, but she ended up admitting to all the biker bar drama.
Portia was unsettled at first, but she ultimately decided she was proud of Trina for taking matters into her own hands.
Taggert was also proud, but he was upset over Trina almost getting in trouble with the law again.
Trina worried that the guy with the Esme lead would clam up when it came to the cops, but Curtis pointed out that he could help.
There was a sweet moment as Curtis acknowledged he would’ve done the same thing in Trina’s position and praised her bravery.
