General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Carly Corinthos’ (Laura Wright) could be on the road to a reunion. Will Sonny’s romance with Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) crumble as true love conquers?
Although Sonny told Nina he’s all in, his actions haven’t done anything to prove it.
Nina recently called Sonny out for acting more concerned about Carly and has complained about his lack of support.
Sonny also pointed out that he’s got a forever connection to Carly through their children, but it runs deeper than that.
Carly was a huge part of Sonny’s life for many years, so a “CarSon” reunion is bound to happen eventually.
Since Nina fears her relationship with Sonny will never escape Carly’s shadow, she understands there’s something powerful and unshakeable here.
It’s tough to imagine any scenario where Sonny could ever completely be over Carly – and the same goes for Carly never being over Sonny.
Sonny has a nice bond with Nina and could build a future with her if they really work at it.
However, that doesn’t mean this new relationship can compete with Sonny’s former marriage to Carly.
The fact that Nina is basically Sonny’s consolation prize is a bad sign.
Carly pushed Sonny away and insisted on this divorce, so that’s the only reason Nina got a real chance at all.
If Carly suddenly wanted a reunion, would Sonny stand by Nina or drop her like a hot potato?
Chances are good Sonny would move back home with Carly so fast it’d make Nina’s head spin.
Although Cynthia Watros and Maurice Benard are fantastic scene partners, it’s difficult to buy Nina and Sonny as some grand love story.
Sonny is far too wishy-washy on his devotion to Nina, which is because he’ll perhaps always be devoted to Carly on some level.
Carly and Sonny obviously have a lot of issues to sort out before they can find their way back to each other.
It’s certainly not something that can happen overnight, but GH writers could already be laying the groundwork for a “CarSon” reunion.
Carly couldn’t defend Sonny’s actions to Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) following the incriminating video drama, but she admitted Avery Corinthos (Ava and Grace Scarola) and Donna Corinthos (Ava Rose) need their dad.
Despite the conflict, Carly can respect Sonny’s role as a father and wants to learn how to coexist.
It’d be easy for Carly to build on that and soften toward Sonny over time.
Many fans are waiting for Carly and Sonny to get their relationship back on track, so it’s great to see some positive hints regarding “CarSon.”
A reunion between Sonny and Carly could happen sooner than either of them expect!
